As much as they are very fun to take the piss out of, I do hope that Logan get on the paddock this year.

Gee old man that is a steep price for a field with a cricket pitch on it that you can never use anyway . Do you guys even have a club house??? Where do you hang all your reserve grade flags...

Last time I played there which was a few years ago I felt like I was in under 12's It was only a canteen I had to go to a bottle o to get a beer . Plus if you look at there web site they have not won a senior flag in 30 years but lots or ressies ones. I was making fun of that

When we played there last the power was out so we had no lights. But you know what? They went to great effort to arrange eskys and a BBQ to put on a great day regardless. Facilities don't make a footy club, otherwise we'd all play for Southport. I have always found UQ as a great professional club and reserves premierships show that they take both grades of football seriously, not just seniors.

dont worry about a club house work on a fence first!! :thumbsu:;) Robina probably have a rivalry with UQ as strong as the Kings do - that said off the field they always stuck around for a beer at scottsdale drive and despite the fact we think they are massive arrogant tools, going back to back is any comp deserves respect - of course its not as good as winning both flags on the same day (robina 2004,2010) but something that is not to be sneezed at.

been in and around this comp for 10 years - never heard of Logan attempting to buy a flag - plenty of blokes still playing cricket or working out whether they want to play (or in remand) - season doesnt start until late April - and if reports were anywhere near correct they only had 16 to training before the gf. They will field a team dont worry about that!

Swoopa - fairly confident not 1 of us on this forum would have the skill to fill the waterbottles at southport :D - good to see your keeping the dream alive tho

Me ma always taught me if I had nothing good to say, don't say it at all. Given the shit that I see here thrown at my club, which is almost always untrue and complete rubbish, I have to bite my lip often.

I think the UQ VS Kings rivalry in the reserves was certainly stronger in my opinion. We had a former player jump over during the last off season and played the boys in the Granny. And then of course the seniors beating us also hurt as well.

UQ/Robina. I definitely think it was a tense rivalry in 2012, not sure about 2011. You guys had every right to feel confident after that round 2 win and it was good seeing you talk it up through the year, especially towards the rematch in the second half of the season.

But that is history as far as I'm concerned. All about 2013 now. Going to be a good year for the club :)

The Southport dream is alive and well. All I need is to improve my speed, endurance, kicking, hand passing, marking, tackling and general football ability and I'm a certain starter.... Off the bench..... In the Ressies.... Of the u16 Bs team...
 
reserves of the u16b team would make it the u16c team yeah? ;)

grounds should be starting to lush right up with all this rain - hopefully it doesnt do too much damage to any of the grounds.

No, in my days at Cooli they had under 16 Black and under 16 white, each with 2 teams. Although it was a while ago so I have received several knocks to the head since then and may be completely off.

Hopefully we see the rain ease up coming into practice match time or else I fear that a lot of teams will go into 2013 with little match practice!

Any word on new players getting around this year? Went down and had a look at cararra the other week, looked ok but not much to talk about really. not sure who they had out, but im hoping they have a few to come back in. I also got down and had a look at coomera, olny got to catch the first half and a bit before the hevens opened up. Was very impressed with the game, looks like they have alot of new guys running around! any word on who these guys are swoopa09? and do you have anymore games coming up, like to have a closer look?
any other clubs have any games coming up?

Yeah we're pretty happy with where we're sitting, even with a half dozen lads going to the Saints. We have a mixture of new guys this year from a variety of areas but the game the other day was predominantly 2012 stock. New coaching/energy is probably having the biggest impact.

A couple of practice matches next month and an intra club here and there coming up mate.

WOW we are certainly honoured and flattered to be mentioned even in the slightest in comparisons with our feathered neighbours. Carrara is hoping to be competitive this year and hopefully win a few games to continue our development of a young squad.

Not sure you can still trot out the young squad line with all your new "mature" recruits :confused:

Does anyone heard from anyone at Logan in regards to how their Open meeting went last night? I for one hope our neighbours keep going for the benefit of the competition. 9 teams is already a little on the light side if you ask me.

Dizzy heights, whilst a nice little phrase, has nothing to do with what I said.

The reality is young fella, your average age will be no younger in your senior team than the rest of us, otherwise, cool story :cool:

Another cool story.

Mate, KP, Jade, Jason, Corey Taylor, Clarkie,Boxy, Andy, just to name a few, will bring your average age up dramatically, not to mention the coomera players you have amongst other recruits.

Dont piss on my back and tell me its raining.
 
cobra - would suggest that with at least 6 and potentially up to 10 players who have played senior footy in this comp training or having trained or having told thier previous clubs they are going to cararra that at least a qtr to a half of your team will see you possibly in a better position the coomera when they started, with the added bonus of the younger guys having played together before - thats not spin or rumour thats just how it is!
