Yes to Salopek. With Raines form improving, Stiller gone and Banfield in the 2's we need a new whipping boy. Plus nobody has whipped out the crazy Vossy meme for a while.
Polks remained and is willing to step down again and carry all the whipping boy attention next year.

Simply cannot carry the responsibility alone. We saw glimpses of what he is capable this year, but ruined it with moments of brilliance. With Buchanon gone also we need to provide some additional support.

Actually he has not been mentioned much at all - even when he was not out of contract there is usually cries of anguish that he is still on the list ... has he turned the corner in our collective minds or is it something else....?

2 ACLs for a 2nd rounder - sound pretty fair?
Get him to do a third and we'll give you a 1st rounder.

Still highway robbery for you blokes, 2 ACLs are hard to come across!

Also, on topic, I'd give Salopek a go for a year if we have the space. I too am starting to think we'll be active, and with free agency it means we can be without losing players and high draft picks.

Would he be willing to re locate to another state & sign a 1 year contract ? He may want the security of a longer contract ?

Clearly we need more. Following Buchanan, Stiller, Sheldon and Hawksley’s de-listings we find ourselves a bit short on candidates.

I know we still have Polka and Banners but I ask myself is that enough? What if one or both are traded?

If we are to believe the Richmond flogs we are recruiting one of theirs, Post, but we need more.

It has been suggested we approach Essendon as it appears they have an abundance and can easily spare one or two at reasonable trade cost. Prismal and Slattery are two that meet the criteria but why stop there. Salopec is another that has made the suggested list.

If we find that trading one from another club is too hard perhaps we can promote one or two of our own. Prime candidates at the moment is Cornelious but gees I am straggling for aspirants to fill our quota.
Any suggestions folks?

We may need a special Whipping Boy thread. Mods???

Probably not. But I'd offer it to him, maybe two years at a low salary. It really depends how much he wants to play AFL footy - I dunno if he'll get many offers (he's played some very good footy in the past and I reckon he's worth a punt, but his 2012 will not be filling any clubs with confidence). If he doesn't get back to his best I think he'd be in the NEAFL in 2014 which would probably not be attractive for him. It depends if he wants a challenge and what he's willing to do to be a senior player, I reckon.

Finally, someone makes a good argument for Salopek! Get on the phone to his agent.

BTW it's good to finally see where irel gets his 'K's for use in "Kotchin" from - he's stealing them from the end of "Salopec" and replacing them with the 'C'!

Hey guys, any chance of Sharred Wellingham from the pies would be a good pick. He is 24 years of age and would be a bargin considering the lack of opportunities he gets in the middle with the likes of Beams, Pendles, Swan, Ball and Dasiy. He would only cost our pick 30.

Would give up pick 23 for him in a heartbeat.

If Lonergan from Essendon is on the chopping block I wouldn't mind picking him up. Could be the hard inside midfielder we need. Also a Tassie lad who were usually pretty keen on.

Justin Sherman mark II

Have a look over any of his recent games. His ability to hit targets is very poor. Looks exciting when he is running but his disposal skills really hold him back.

Hey guys.

Just wanted to ask about Polec. He is out of contract at the end of this year, right? With all of the re-signings lately, you would have thought that one of them would be Polec.

Are you confident of him staying? Or do you think he's coming home.

And btw, if you want whipping boys, we've got a bunch of them. ;)
