A knee reco (and related injuries post surgery) tends to do that. Hasnt been fully fit since Oct 2010. And yes he has a new role, probably something he would have evolved into anyway had injuries not got in the way.

If he continues his form of recent months for the rest of the year he will come into consideration, at least for the short list if not the final side.

Probably depends on media attention, usually that's what gets fringe players in.

I'll never forget Simon Black in 2007. 2nd in the Brownlow medal, had an awesome year, so consistent. Didn't even make the initial AA consideration list. Why? He's in Brisbane and keeps his head down, the media aren't talking about him. Most AA selections have at least a couple of laughable selections, I guess he could make it. Why not? Give the AA panel even less cred than they have now.

This thread started early on last year so why not now during round five.

It will be interesting to see how the people's teams change during the course of the year

B: Yarran Lonergan Goddard
HB: Birchall Carlisle Hanley
C: Cotchin Watson Cornes
HF: L. Thomas Cloke Westhoff
FF: Rioli Franklin Stokes
R: Cox Selwood Mitchell
INT: Liberatore Pendlebury Boak Deledio

Hibberd has had more impact on games than Goddard. I think he's closer to AA.

hibberd would be a lock for the back pocket as it stands now.

Goddard could sneak into the squad, but wouldn't be in my team, and if he was he'd be on a wing, not a BP

What an amazing career he has had.
Basically progressed each season by 5-10% to be the player he is today (that is a top 20 mid player in the comp).

Hibberd, Carlisle, S.Thompson (North)
S.Mitchell, H.Taylor, A.Walker
R.Griffen, Barlow, Hannebery
Douglas, N.Riewoldt, Stokes
Garlett, J.Kennedy, L.Thomas
Minson, Ablett, Watson
Jack, Pendlebury, Cox, Dangerfield

Few comments:
Lindsay Thomas extremely fortunate, but not a whole lot of other forwards you could put in at the moment. Maybe a key forward but none have set the world on fire themselves either.

Grant Birchall unlucky - just had a slow last 3 weeks. His first 6 were very good though.

Will Minson, who else could be in the ruck? Not one stand out. Cox? McEvoy? Goldstein? Naitanui will be there at seasons end I think. Minson right now because he played well tonight.

Josh Kennedy leading the Coleman, who usually gets the FF spot.

Unsure on CHB. Does Harry deserve his spot? Other options could be Daniel Talia from the Adelaide Crows or Ted Richards?

And finally, raffle off the last spot (Dangerfield) between him, Cotchin and Josh Kennedy from the Sydney Swans.

Excellent team, love that centre line, good to see it not clogged up with the usual names, but with some fresh faces
