My main concern involves both Geary & Siposs as in which one of them will be playing the Goddard role. ATM I'm thinking Siposs will but I really wouldn't know. Have the Saints had any intra club games yet?

Saturday morning.
Another to watch is James Gwilt, who has stated that he's only now feeling fully fit after his ACL. Average 50ish DT last season, whether he can ever get above his historic average of 70 or so is another question. Will depend on his role as well.

Gwilt is a much better SC player than he is as a DT player.

You'd think Siposs due to his kicking ability. Geary is more a workhorse than a guy who will tear teams apart with his talent.

Check out Gearys start to 2012 - was an excellent choice before his role changed, if he is used a afree running player from halfbackvhe is a real gem for his price, yet to be convinced about sipposs - if he couldnt take a key fwd spot from Kozitschke then I'm struggling to see him gaining credibility rapidly. Just think Dal Santo will end up at half back as the quarter back and the likes of Seb Ross and the kids (watched over by Lenny grandfather hayes) will get extra game time in the middle

According to match reports, Siposs & Geary both played HBF in Saints intra club game the other day.
Siposs isn't really KP size, so I can see why he couldn't make a KP forward spot his own.
Yeah about the same size as BJ with a similar ability to take a good grab.

Very nice foot skills as well. Has all the tools to be as good a utility in the back half as Goddard & Gibbs have been the last few years.

because that is what they were grooming him for last season (potentially Lee or Stanley will now fill this role) - potentially a 3rd fwd role (agreed his size is limiting)

Okay lets get just a little serious and ignore the price/value tag on Sipposs - Goddard is a jet, Sipposs is a bi-plane currently

Yeah I see Siposs as more of a potential money spinner than a full year keeper.
( 191cm or so , so not dreadful as a third forward , but yeah, that awkward in-between size ).

If Goddard is tiger airways then there are 100 other defenders who can't get a ticket to board a plane at all, it is only the fact we all expect week in week out miracles that we judge him so harshly

It's much easier averaging 100+ in a top 4 team than a middle of the road team.
Doubt this very much. If your a good player youll average 100+ in any team. Goddard was ordinary last year but he still managed to finish in the top 5 scoring defenders and Stkilda havnt been top 4 for a few years now either and he has still scored reasonbly well in that time
So you're happy paying 113 in 2011 for someone who averaged 95?
