I don't really count those around the 400 mark and up mid pricers but still

It's so difficult but with the trades before the price rises all you have to do is set up your structure pick either you're favourite or if you're torn the more expsnive of your mid pricers then swap them around as the first rounds are played. Obviously you dont want to be relying on these trades so do as much research as possible but the option is there.

At the moment i'm looking at

Monfries vs Breust vs Newman vs Sippos vs Yarran vs Atley
for my mid priced FWd or DEF player at around 300-370k i'll have 1 in my side

Varcoe v Byrnes v Knights v Kennedy v Brodie v Tambling
for my FWD or DEF player at around 200-270k of which i'll have 1 in my side

It's certainly an effort to keep track of

Dempsey maybe. A score of 10 last year makes him underpriced, and going by the NAB cup Essendon are playing a very HB friendly style. Not necessarily a 'bargain', but a potential improver.

Young, no. Won't score anywhere near enough to be worth a spot in your mids. Never has, never will.

Dempsey looking very tempting for an under the radar draft style league defence pickup. durability is a worry though

Don't forget McCarthy. You can also (thankfully) expect to see less of players like Logan, Thomas, Brett Ebert and maybe even Cassisi this year.

I've had Pittard, Stevenson and Wines in my side since the competition opened. Mitchell, Heath and Neade are all big chances to play Round 1 too. You could just about have all 6 in your side without it being a problem.
i currently have all 3 of heath, stevenson and pittard

ports run out defence was a main weakness for them last year and all 3 could score quite well

Will he get games though?

Port's backline:
???? Carlile Jonas (you may not know who Tom Jonas is, but the coaches love him)
Pittard Trengove ????

Unless we use a bench spot on a defensive player, Dom Cassisi, Lewis Stevenson, Jack Hombsch, Campbell Heath, Nathan Blee and Tom Logan will be competing for those two available spots. Blee and Logan are a fair way behind the first 4, so you can probably discount them, but that still leaves plenty of competition. Hombsch has the height, Stevenson has the disposal, Cassisi has the experience and Heath is a 'not great at anything but good at everything' type.

Heath will definitely get opportunities throughout the year, maybe even from Round 1, but unless we get hit with injuries he'll have to be fighting hard for a spot all year. A couple of average games and he could easily find himself in the SANFL for a spell.

Would i be right in saying that out of those 2 spots one would come from Stevenson/Hombsch and the other from Cassisi/heath

Heath reminds me alot of Morris, dont know if its his blonde hair or the fact his game is all defensive and he loves hard pill and tackles.

Stevenson is probably the most likely of the four to play every game. Trengove and Jonas can't kick and Carlile's not great at it either, so Stevenson's ball use should get him a spot. Whether Hombsch or Heath is the frontrunner for the back pocket spot probably depends on the height of the forward line we're playing against that week.

Honestly, going by his form last year, Cassisi shouldn't be in the best 22. But he has been the captain for the last 4 years and he was a good player up until 2012, so he can't be discounted completely.
Are you prmising me Pittard will be a lock in best 22

he better be, im trusting you

He's been a lock in the best 22 since mid-2011. He's just never been fit long enough for this to be obvious for those who don't follow the club.

It port mate, last year i tried to avoid watching them. No offence

With pittard, Wines, Mitchell, Monfries this season they may be one of my favourite sides to watch

Pittard is a really good young player (better than Ben Jacobs at least) if he can stay injury free, he may well become a keeper (maybe not in DT but SC for sure)

Stevenson simply has to play imo, he'll boost your rebounding proficiency immensely. Would split games in the other defensive post between Cassisi/Heath/Hombsch.

campbell heath is actually as good if not better kick than stevenson

had 81% efficiency, most intercept possesions and most rebound 50's
