Might only one more home game at Subi, in the H&A, but I expect the home final/s will be sold out. That'll benefit the 3 Gamers? Don't care, I'll be there!

Tonight's game is officially a sell out!

Fans and members with tickets get the game and support the mighty purple (but wear white for members recognition game)

Have to attend a wedding. Why do people have them during the footy season?

Oh well giving my seat to a family member so at least it won't be empty.

Count yourself lucky you don't have one on Saturday of Prelim final weekend

Home Crowd v Port: 35,565

Average Home Crowd 2013: 34,266

2013 Average v 2012 Average: Up 880

Almost 36,000 through the gates this evening. Amazing atmosphere, the Mexican was something to enjoy (haven't had one of those in a while)

Bring on the finals!!!!

Good crowd and good noise for most of the game, I already have goosebumps at the thought of a home prelim final.

Not a huge fan of the Mexican wave though, unless it's at the WACA. I'm one of those people who gets completely absorbed in every play though and hate being distracted by external influences; didn't help that I had a massive Maori fella with an enormous purple afro sitting in front of me though :p

Yet again, sold out game with almost 7000 empty seats.

Almost the entire row behind me was empty and I know that there are three Eagles fans that are members in that row that only come every now and then and never seem to give their tickets away.

I have a friend that is an eagles member that never goes to the games and the club have started emailing him to ask if they can sell his seat.

Hopefully Freo can do something about it next year because its almost a guarantee that the final we play here will be packed because you don't get an automatic seat.

Totally agree :P

Maybe I'm just being an old whinger but geez I was actually more interested in the game than the wave and my wife got a beer spilled on her because of it. On top of that it went round a dozen times :P

The Mexican Wave was awesome with noise in the stadium massive. What made it even better was the tossing of the white anchors. It was a celebration of one of our best games and the crowd was in a state of pure happiness. And what's more, our players just loved it. :)

How would you know if the players loved it? Sorry, no offence intended, but I see a Mexican wave as a bored crowd, not watching the actual game.

Don't get me wrong, I know it was just a happy crowd, but I think it is a little insulting to both teams.

Yes very strange! How can a sellout be 35000??

A few of the players have posted about it on twitter.

Was great noise levels for a 35K crowd, I think the PA fans being extra loud and organised challenged us to be louder.

I think it's a tad disrespectful towards our own team as well, they were excellent tonight and the MW smacks of disinterest.

I thought of it as a mark of respect towards the players for a great season.

I only joined in the first time because after that I was trying to concentrate on the game, but I don't have any problem with it. It's just a bit of fun.

As long as it stays confined to the last game of the season though, wouldn't want it happening every week. Who knows, might even become a tradition where good seasons are marked with a celebration wave in the final home game.

But more likely it was just a one off to celebrate the club finally putting together two good seasons in a row, similar to the clapping off after the 03 final.

This for me too. Mexican waves are for the cricket when absolutely nothing is happening. I see it as a huge sign of disrespect to the players. If it can be confirmed that the players liked it, then that would change my stance.

It didn't help that while it was going on, Port piled on 4 unanswered goals. Were our players distracted by it?

The players loved it. Ballantyne mentioned it in his press conference, Zac Clarke mentioned it on his twitter as did Tommy Sheridan, so did de Boer

Just a bit of harmless fun not sure how it is a sign of disrespect.

Well it has always said to me we as spectators are bored with what is going on on the field, so we are now entertaining ourselves, that's why I never join in Mexican waves at the footy. If that's not how the players see it, who am I to argue?

If I berated anyone here who was at the game last night for disrespecting the players I'm sorry, I was clearly wrong.
