2013 Crowd Numbers

Actually enjoyed the 28k turning up, the diehards loyal freo fans that probably turned up during the lean early 2000s years. Crowd was still loud and amazingly supporting Dawson instead of the usual groans with his handballing. Alot of the 40 k members are largely eagles fans 'supporting WA teams'- the ones that turn up suddenly to the derby in Eagles gear.

This is probably closer to the mark, i know a few who sit near me that didn't show up on saturday night, besides shorter lines for everything is better and all the diehards there..

Like I wrote in the matchday thread, I thought it was one of the more enjoyable atmospheres of the year.

I didn't notice the same aggressive undertone we get sometimes where the crowd pounces on every mistake with groans and abuse. Must have been because E Shed wasn't there.

Tried to get good tickets but nothing was available.

Yes, I know, I should become a member, and I will once I finishing my ****ing degree and can get a decent job.

It will be interesting to see the attendances in the new stadium, when people don't need to buy season memberships to get a seat. I think there is a decent chance we could be playing to <30k regularly, which will look poor in a bigger stadium.

Could be the other way around - membership drops but attendances rise slightly.

As we've seen this year members who can't be bothered showing up already don't, but at least with a bigger stadium people like StingBitten will be able to get walk up seats easily. And with a better quality viewing experience than Subi provides you'd think we'd get more walk ups.

What's happened to dockerland anyway. Has it closed down?

Just had a look and it's still going. Although with only a couple of regular posters they might as well close it down.

TBH, I don't know if it ever existed. :p I thought it was just a way to make fun of Freo fans that I don't like...
There's that, & BF too, of course! Me, well I used to accept Freo supporters equally, since 2010 there's a distinct lack of appeal with many of them. Or p[erhaps I'm just more aware of them.

In a round about sort of way, what you've said is something that is a real risk for membership numbers. Why?, because every week there are lots of paid-up members who don't turn up (work, weather, etc). When we move over to the new 60,000 seat stadium a non-member will be able to turn up, when it's convenient to them, and get a seat. So why pay for an expensive membership when you know you probably won't get to every game.

anyone who shows up in eagles gear in a derby after going to freo games should be banned from attending fremantle games.

When the new stadium comes i would expect that those douchebags will drop off, but also we'll get more people who previously didn't become members because the seats available are terrible (ie: in the 3rd tier). We'll get 40k every week in the new stadium.

Oh, is it that time of the week where you let everyone know you are a ******, I call it out and everyone agrees with me again?

oops, almost forgot the obligatory go **** yourself.

Oh yes, I can just see that you would make a grand dinner guest.

Good luck using a knife and fork.

31,350 something! Good turnout, good day, cheering not as good as Melbourne, but got noisy a few times.

Can you believe we've only got one last home game left in the H&A season? This season's been on rapid fire; hope we can fill the stadium out for that one.

In the history of GWS, the 3rd and 5th highest crowds they have played in front of are Fremantle games at Subi.

In 2012, the Fremantle game at Subi was behind only their round 1 Swans clash.

Pretty disappointing compared to last year with only games against Melb and Saints to go I can't see that number improving.

Should only be 18-20k at the Demons game this Sunday with crap weather expected. Last year under cover at Etihad we only managed 13,284.
