Yep, I've made a set, iq'ing the rest for tomorrow. I can still picture Tomic just tanking, there was nothing impressive about that opening set

I know Poland made the choice of surface early before Wimbledon but it always seemed dumb to not take Kubot and what they would have assumed was Janowiecz on a faster surface. More of a "lets put on what they dont like" rather then playing to their strengths. Its not as if Hewitt is a complete Sampras-esque clay mug either.

Canada and Serbia tied 1-1 after Raonic wins in 5 vs Tipserevic 10-8 in the last.

Canada however surely need to win the doubles to have any chance.

Nope, complete no brainer to play us on clay.

Outside of a couple of runs at wimbledon all Kubot's best results are on clay. They are not going to choose grass against Australia, which is also Hewitt and Tomic's best surface, and probably wouldn't have the resources to do that in Poland anyway.

Janowicz has played pretty much all his challenger level tennis on the dirt and our guys have a warm up tourny or two for the French then avoid it like the plague for the rest of the year. If they played on a faster court, Hewitt with his return game would have been a big chance against big serving Janowicz, he has shown that in the last 18 months beating Del Potro, Isner, Raonic etc. On clay Janowicz would have been all over Lleyton's serve. Kubot just played disgusting, it was the right surface choice for them.

Saw the first set and a bit of Hewitt he was looking great. Raonic beat Tipsarevic 10-8 in the fifth saving match points great result!

I really enjoyed watching the Tomic match, very nice quality, his opponent played better than Kubot that's for sure. Nice serving.

Hewitt's match was just a borefest, Kubot had nothing and Lleyton just rolled him.

Good win for Tomic and Australia, did what he had to do to win, served very nicely

Poland would be favourite for the doubles but its still crucial for us to finish it tonight.

Serbia still should beat Canada but good to see Raonic made it interesting

Yep, definitely someone to keep an eye on. But he needs to work on his net game desperately. Don't they teach that at all to kids anymore???
