Agreed. Ran around against us just "accidently" collecting blokes with his elbows and fists. The bloke is a disgrace, anyone can play well when you play yourself lose around the entire ground and spend your day introducing your elbow to the jaws of unsuspecting victims.

This just proves the rep side is a joke, the league has no idea, nor do they care about us in the depths of the competition. They just picked a bloke because a few of his team mates get on social media and pump up his tyres.

He is a disgrace to football and deserves a long stint in D3 next year. However, if OP lose any of their financial backing, you can bet your bottom dollar that the OP jersey will be off his back quicker than you can say mutter the question "play for the love of the game david?"

Hardly a disgrace or a sniper. I rate the VAFA's call, with right delivery he can clunk them and kick them from 50 as good as anyone in d2, u prob couldnt pick a midfielder from d2 that is in the best od the best in the ammo's.

I've only seen Boundy play twice and I think there is no question the man has supreme ability, but I wouldn't put him in my top 10 purely because he doesn't seem to get out of 2nd gear too often.

Boundy is the most over rated bloke in D2. The few times we have played him, the only way that bloke has stamped his authority on the game is by being a sniper and throwing cheap shots. He has barely played well in those games. I hope he enjoys playing D3 in 2014.

As for top 10 players, I can think of many that would be above him. Egglestone, Ciavola, Harris, Gatehouse, Cherian, the Bannisters and Close are just a few names that I would put above the overpaid Paradian sniper.

I might as well put in my two cents worth. At risk of naming every player in the division and with the further disclaimer that I haven't seen a lot of some sides, here's my list of the better players in the comp:

My tips for this week are:

St Johns over st Leos by 5 goals. st Johns headed for the four and will have too much run.
Yarra over South Melbourne by 8 goals. South unlucky last week but they won't find Domeney to their liking (if they can find it at all stuck in the back blocks).
Hoes to beat St Marys by 6 goals. st Marys style much more to Ivanhoe's liking than St Johns.
Eltham to beat OP's by 7 goals. Despite the home ground they are poles apart in class. Boundy and Belizia will need to have big games for an upset.
Therry to beat the Gryphs by 2 goals-Potential upset here as Therry will find Monash tough opposition at home but will just do enough.

Round 11 Preview

Bushrangers over Emmaus by 56 Pts. (Whilst the Animals have showed some signs of improvement in recent times, there is no way they will beat Yarra Valley at home. Bushrangers comfortably)

Eltham over Monash by 37 Pts. (The Turtles should pull away comfortably in the second half as the Gryphs talent stocks are limited and Eltham will look to boost their modest percentage. Ciavola to boot at least 6).

SMS over Parade by 15 Pts. (Suddenly the Saints seem the most vulnerable of the teams in the four and will be made to work hard for the points here).

Therry over South by 34 Pts. (The Lions would not want to turn up as world beaters or this could be an upset as the Bloods are a fairly good side on their day. Don’t think they’ll be able to sustain the standard to trouble the Lions for 120 minutes though).

Jocs over Hoes by 15 Pts. (St Johns will look to continue their push for finals but Ivanhoe know that any loss for teams on four wins places survival more perilous so it won’t be a cakewalk)
Round 11 Review
5/5 (39/55 cumulative) and it is great to finally pick the card in a division where save for the top and bottom teams is anything but straightforward. The Jocs really look the goods to replace the Sainters in the four in coming weeks and their strong percentage will only enhance this. St Mary’s do not seem able to score heavily enough to trouble the elite and even though they won, were hardly convincing at home to Old Paradians. St Johns, on the other hand are crushing weaker opponents and look set to take part in September action.

Tips for this week are:

Hoes to beat parade by 11 points. The classic relegation scrap and the loser will be under huge pressure. In the wet Parade's bigger bodies will test the Hoes. Still think we are the better side though.
Gryphs over St Marys by 5 goals. Gryphs to start to put some distance between themselves and the bottom two.
Eltham to beat Yarra by 5 goals. Even though Eltham have been average lately, the big spaces to find out a slowish Yarra side.

Therry over St Johns by 8 goals. St Johns should be challenging for the four but this fixture does them no favours.

South Melbourne over St Leos by 8 goals. Big day for South and they should account for St Leos comfotably at home.

Six rounds of football left and while I think the top four will hold their possies for the finals, the real battle is at the other end of the ladder. While each of the four battling to avoid the drop all play D3 bound St Leos, and can't afford to drop that one, it's the games against themselves that will count as I can't see any of them toppling the teams above them. And the two in the box seat clash at the leafy oval this round because after that all will then play two of their rivals in the drop zone. OPar (Ivan, Mon, SMeb), Mon (OPar, Ivan), Ivan (OPar, SMelb, Mon), SMelb (Ivan, OPar).

Round 13 Review

3/5 (47/65 cumulative) as the wintry conditions played havoc with not only the players, but the pundits as well. Paradians won with 5 goals 7 which were the third highest winning score of the day in a match that places the Hoes in a vulnerable position just outside the relegation zone. Speaking of the dreaded 'd' word, the Gryphons now look the most likely to join the Animals in D3 as they were beaten narrowly by the Saints at ECR. Our ladder leaders won their respective game with a total of eight goals between them and my old mate Graham Leys reckons it is the lowest winning score by the Turtles in their history. The Jocs expected loss at Therry now places them two games out of the four and their push for finals can have no speed humps from here.

Round 14 Preview

Hoes over the Animals by 6 Pts (One would think this is Emmaus’ best chance of a victory this season and they will throw everything at Ivanhoe in front of their adoring and loyal home fans. The fact that Ivanhoe cannot afford to drop such a game might get them over the line though.)

Bushrangers over Gryphs by 36 Pts (Monash have the knack of pulling off a victory against the odds, but don’t expect it to be today. Yarra cannot afford to be complacent but have too many guns and will win comfortably).

SMD over SMS by 3 Pts (Should be a cracker at Ferndale. The Bloods have been playing their best footy of the year in recent weeks and will be very hard to toss. The Saints will have to bring their ‘A-Game’ to get the points and may fall just short).

Therry over Eltham by 16 Pts (Many believe these two will play off at the big dance come September. I’m not willing to put my house on the Quinella just yet, but this contest obviously is the match of the day.

St Johns over Parade by 29 Pts (Surely there can be no upset here. The Jocs have far too much to play for and will ensure that they keep the Raiders at arm’s length with their run and carry style. Expect this to be a competitive match but the stout Parade defence will not be able to keep St Johns under 12 goals or so).

Big game for the finals but Therry to win by 7 goals at home over Eltham.

St Johns to put Paradians to the sword by 12 goals at doveton.

Given that addressing the mediocrity of the umpires in Division 2 Football is frowned upon, I've been forced to look elsewhere for this weeks rant, fortunately, I haven't had to look past Domeney Reserve.

Now forgive me if this viewpoint is misguided, however I was under the impression that for most of us playing footy on Saturday's was a privilege we all enjoyed and wasn't considered a chore.

Like a lot of clubs down in the depths, numbers have started to dwindle at the Gryphs and as such, we struggled to find an umpire to officiate the reserves game against Yarra Valley on Saturday, a situation that has occurred at all clubs before and will continue to occur. While it's not ideal, the game can certainly go on.

Yarra Valley on hearing finding out that we didn't have an umpire, rather than addressing the issue with the Monash hierarchy directly, went straight to the VAFA to have the game awarded in their favour.

So rather than having the 44 players run out on to the field and playing the game they love, they opted to try and have the game awarded in their favour on a technicality.

Fortunately for us, one of our senior players stepped up to umpire so we could all carry on with Australia's favourite pastime, but never in all my days have I seen such an appalling attitude. It couldn't be any further from the spirit of local football.

I am not insinuating that the players had anything to do with the clubs decision to act in this way, but to the Yarra Valley administration, shame on you. Shame on you for trying to destroy the very foundations that local football is built on.

Historically, I'd never wish failure on a club, but to you Yarra Valley, I'll make an exception.

You may have taken the points on the day, but to me and hopefully the wider community, you've lost our respect.
