Should be interesting this year. IMO it should be between 4 : Crowley, Johnson, Fyfe and Barlow.

Personally I would like to see MJ get it. Been super consistent all year.

Mayne is more than a smokey, has played every game this year and his effort is second to none every time. Crowls is a definite possible to go back to back. Fyfe has had blockbuster games but has missed a couple, and he has had a stinker on the odd occasion (by his standards). MJ has been stellar as well, really stood up and kept the backline together in the absence of the Big Mac.

Dawson ;) Has seriously stood up.

Must be between Mayne, Johnno and Crowley IMO. Spurr should poll well, watching the GC game I didn't miss Broughton a bit.

My top 5 for the Doig: Fyfe, Mayne, Johnson, Crowley, Mundy

No idea who will win though.

Mayne, MJ, Fyfe, Crowley, Barlow

Luke to be leading until rd 12, expect a late charge from Zac Clarke and Zac D to be in the top 10.

Anyone going? $250 a ticket.

The way the Doig is voted (which I think is the best system) rewards consistency over the occasional sensational game and doesn't use a system were points can be 'taken away' from each other (like most voting systems including the Browlow, which is one of the worst BTW).

With that in mind, MJ has to be right up there, Crowley and Mayne next in line. Fyfe will obviously do well, but missed a couple and has been 'average' in recent weeks so might not crack top spot.

Crowley, reckon he's almost a game up on everyone else with the Geelong game. He should get around 12-16 votes for that game with everyone else getting 0-4 IMO

Can somebody explain the voting system?

"Four members of the Fremantle coaching staff, including Lyon, assigned every player votes on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis at the end of each game."

This is probably crap with the winner only averaging 1,66 votes/game from each coach. My guess only the best five players get votes...

PS Ok, read it gain, my guess is probably right:

"Pavlich tied with Johnson, but lost on a countback after the defender polled in more games throughout the year."

1 (winner)- Crowley
2- Johnson
3- fyfe
3- barlow
4- mayne
4- mundy
5- Dawson
6- ballantyne
7- Clarke
8- Walters
9- hill
10- spurr

Best clubman- suban

Beacon award- neale with Sheridan a close runner up ( not sure how this award works, weather second and third year players are eligible)

Nah, votes go to whoever did their role. Rd 1 last year 20 players got votes, but in Rd 8 against the hawks only 4 got votes.

After Crowley won it last year I think it's obvious what values Ross rewards.

Mayne to win as he always gives great effort & total commitment. He's had a fantastic year carrying the load without Pav & should be rewarded.
