It's easy to say in hindsight why so many clubs passed on Patrick Cripps, but at the time, he was bit of a shock/controversial selection (had a few mates pretty ticked off we didn't draft Cam Mccarthy) but Shane Rodgers backed his judgement and the proof is in the pudding.

For a club that has made so many mistakes for a generation now (25 years), The Paddy Cripps selection is our salvation of sorts, love how loyal and passionate he is to the Navy Blues, a one club champion for sure (and I wouldn't trade him for love nor money)

Great by what standard ?

The Bont has played 100 games, got a flag, threatens greatness.

Peformance to date Patrick Cripps.

Late developer Dom Sheed.

Under my radar Matt Crouch.

Zerrett falling off the face of the earth has not helped the reputation of this draft, I dare say he is the most disappointing player in the league at this point in time.

Dom Sheed is a beauty, late bloomer, but now has to be in the top 4 or 5 in his draft class

Cripps was on the radar for the eagles. Had we not had a hard on for Sheed I dare say he would of been seriously considered. Both players should make both clubs happy :D

Performance to date we have IMO

Tier 1: Cripps, Kelly, Bont
Tier 2: Merrett, Matt Crouch, Sheed, Sicily, Ben Brown
Tier 3: Barrass, Langdon, Lobb, Nankervis, Fantasia, Salem, Billings, McStay
Tier 4: Every other player still on an AFL list

Above average draft but it’s nowhere near 2001 superdraft status.

Besides our first selection ie. James Aish IMO our selections were quite good = Darcy Gardiner, Daniel McStay, Tom Cutler, Nick Robertson.

2001 is still the best.

You also cannot really put McGovern as part of the class of 2013 as that pick in the fifth round was used to elevate him from the rookie list after two years.
Why is it that some people interpret the question "An All-Time Great" as "Greatest of All-Time?". Comprehension difficulties?

The Age's list was the only one I found that was copy-paste friendly. You don't think I typed down everything there, did you?

I also don't think the 2013 draft is one of the best, either.

I also understand it's not a list you hand-typed (duh), but I'm not going to leave a comment on The Age's site to complain about it if it's here on BigFooty already. Don't take it personally.

The draft from hell for Collingwood. Sharenberg and Freeman then for some strange reason trade in James Aish. Think it can be safe to say it possibly cost us the flag last year. West Coast trade in Sheed and Barrass many picks later. Ben Brown in the 50's the steal of the draft.

Merely putting up a list for which people can compare 2013 against. This is the bar.

2001 - of the list that I put up

3,508 games
2,352 goals

25 Premierships
6 Norm Smiths
39 All Australian
23 b&f
6 Brownlows
8 MVP
4 AFLCA
