Michael is very top heavy and will take a while to get his legs bigger so he can lower his centre of gravity a bit. Look at Goose who has huge quads he is almost impossible to push out of the way in a 1v1. His core is very strong and that's why he can be CHB at a shortish height.
So size does matter.

Robertson is flying in this arvo and Darcy is getting in on Friday after high school graduate.
Good info. I was a bit concerned reading a tweet on the weekend between Emma Quayle and Gardiner when she asked when he was heading up to Brissy and he said he wasn't sure but "some time next week'. Sounded like he hadn't really been told. False alarm. Bit edgy about the need to make these guys feel as welcome as possible given recent events.

...and I think they picked up Bernard Tomic by mistake:eek: (second right both pics of newbies-not Manny)
As long as his father isn't part of the package.

I like the story of Sydney seriously considering McCarthy at 15 and GWS wanting to give another middle finger to the swans. Can only wish it is true though, but mind you, most would agree it was a strange draft selection.
Why would we want McCarthy? We can't fit in all the tall forwards we currently have!

I think GWS are just stockpiling good types to trade for high draft picks in future years. With the overly generous concessions, the AFL has created a juggernaught that will keep rolling for 10-12 years at least.

After watching 2min highlight videos, my expert (:D) opinion regarding our last 2 picks:

Tom Cutler: tall halfback/flanker who will replace Yeo. Has a bit of pace and agility and take a decent mark. Similar to Yeo will need to flatten his kicks, but he's someone who can provide good balance and flexibility to the defensive group, with potential to move further up the ground.

Nick Robertson: can become a real monster if he remains injury free. Good height, size, strength, endurance with a bit of breakaway speed. An accurate but not overly penetrative kick who is capable on his left. Can win the hardball as a big inside midfielder but can also run. Also potential as a resting mid sized forward who will be handful for some defenders. Some very good attributes.

I agree this latest batch of draftees is very exciting, and if developed right, can set up our list for years to come.

JA seems like a really self-assured yet mature guy for his age.

Please, please....let the reality live up to the vibes.:thumbsu:
Looks really impressive .
Let's hope he lives up to it.
