Brett Anderson is hearing things that Aish could slide, possibly out of the top 5
Must. Keep. Pick. 4!!

Nah but seriously if we managed to get Aish that would be absolutely amazing. You described him really well, definitely fits our needs the most out of all the mids I'd say. Imagine Libba, Clay and Wally feeding the ball out to Macrae and Aish, damnnnn

What makes you so keen on Lennon Dannnnnnn? I tend to think he lacks strong side to side movement on the deck but apart from that i reckon he's pretty good. Apart from the fact his disposal and hands are really good he doesn't exactly light it up for me on the ground. A straight line runner imo.
He doesn't have that dynamic sidestep that you see in Macrae but I definitely disagree that he's a straight line runner. He gets around guys quite easily on the burst and I see his movement as a strength at his height.

Is Lennon an elite level decision maker dannnnn? How is his vision and spacial awareness? It's great to have elite level disposal but without the vision and decision making, it's almost redundant
His vision is terrific, but as TF said he is quite selfish and tries to do it all. I don't see that as a massive problem though - we were all lauding Stringer's ability to take the game on and do it himself (see: NAB Cup goal, Richmond goal). He will need to work on it at AFL level but I don't see it as much of a problem.

No way he slides out of the top four, unless he has some Dayle Garlett-esque problems that no one knows about.

I think the most likely scenario to us getting Aish is, Melbourne takes Kelly, STK takes Billings.
If Melbourne takes Kelly it will be a huge stuff up. They don't need an outside runner who doesn't have an inside game.

The scenario mentioned earlier that led to the discussion was that GWS are into pick 2 for Scharenberg, so:
1. Boyd
2. Scharenberg
3. Kelly
I just can't see St Kilda taking Kelly if Aish is still there.

If Scharenberg goes to GWS at pick 2 like we've been hearing, Kelly gets picked at 3 because Saints are keen on him, we'd have to pick Aish at 4. HAVE to. This just shouldn't be negotiable.

Also i'd get to laugh at the Saints, again. This has to happen.

Would you take Kelly at 4 if Aish was taken at 3?

Aish having a Toumpas like slide. Everyone thought he was a top two lock this time last year, slide to four.

I'd certainly consider it, but you always have to ask questions about players who don't win their own ball. I've seen some promising signs from Kelly this year that show that he is working on it and it is developing, but you still have to be cautious.

I think Kelly is best placed to reach his potential with our raft of inside midfielders compared to other teams around that mark but of course, you still have to take it into account.

I'd probably make a decision out of three: Lennon, Kelly and Billings. In the end I don't think I'd be able to say no to Kelly but it's close.

I really don't know about Kelly, he's the one I have the most question marks over really. He would complement our team, but I just get the feeling he won't be able to be dominant at the AFL. He'll be a good player, but more in the 12-17 bracket on the list. And you want better than that with a pick 4.

I have questions marks on Billings. But I remember watching an under 18 game in 2011, and marvelling at this kid who tore the game open in the 1st half, I had no idea who the hell he was. It was Billings. He pretty much single handedly won the game for them in the 1st half, and I still love him after that. But again it's the question can he find that much space in the AFL, can he transition to midfield.

Lennon I haven't seen, but all I hear is good things. BUT I question why if I've heard nothing bad about him, he's not being talked up by most people as a top 5 pick? There must be something holding him back.

If Billings can guarantee to be a midfielder, i'd take him at pick 4, he's just so bloody talented. If not, i'd be leaning towards Lennon. I'm not a Kelly fan.

Why would GWS take Scharenberg when they already have Buntine and Plowman?

Buntine is on the trade table - obviously they don't expect him to get to where they wanted him to.

Plowman will take a while (and to be honest I'm still baffled about why he was taken at 3...).

Alternatively, they may see Scharenberg transitioning into the midfield, or playing that medium-tall forward that they still lack (and have said they're chasing).

This is just speculation based on a rumour that they're chasing pick 2 for Scharenberg.

Boyd not being an option, then Aish as described sounds perfect for our needs, followed by Scharenberg.

Worst case scenario for us, IMO, is they all go in the 1st 3 picks.

To be clear, all the information I'm hearing is Kelly is our number 1 guy, then it's Scharenberg. If those two are gone I'm guessing Aish, but I'm not so sure after hearing he's going to slide now. I haven't had any indication that we will be going for Lennon or Billings.

i'm liking Aish because he has won two SAFL flags before he is even 18 years old
against mature age bodies that's a good sign of a ready made player.

Are you concerned about Kelly at all CG? I think he compliments us very well but I just really hate taking players who can't win their own ball with very early picks. Too easy to take them out of the game.

Fwiw I have no concerns at all about Kelly when he has the ball - it's just how he gets it.

3. Kelly
I just can't see St Kilda taking Kelly if Aish is still there.

I can, for one he's a Victorian (look at all the kids wanting to go back home these days), goes to Brighton Grammar (local), has an elite tank, comparable footskills (not saying as good as Aish, just comparable), hasn't got injury history and is a great kid.

I like this, if Aish does slide though you'd think we would take him. For me id prefer Aish>>>>Kelly>>Scharenberg

Yeah I do a little bit. His body size concerns me the most as he can be pushed off the ball which is why he stays outside the packs mainly. I think his inside game would actually be ok if he was a lot bigger.

I've said it all year I'd be surprised if we got Kelly and all I'm hearing is he's our number 1 choice. Weird.
