Can I just say one more time how much I wish we could draft McDonald...

Pretty sure Macca said the other day that 60 will likely be used to upgrade Goodes. We're going with 5 rookies again I believe.
Ahh fe, gives us the chance to take a really speculative kid without wasting a main list spot so happy enough with that. Who knows Conlon might even be available.

Now that Richardson has that st Kilda position, I wonder whether his Adelaide knowledge may cause a change in thinking for pick 3, from billings to Aish or the Berger. This will be interesting either way.
I hope not, although I think it will come down to whoever is available out of Aish and Billings for us, and as much as I hope its Aish I would still be stoked with Billings.

I think Kim Jong Pelchen will make the decision on who they draft.
With how long he takes with each selection, this could go to Friday morning

Who actually has the final say on who we pick? I read somewhere on here, that someone said B-Mac wanted someone else last year, but got overruled by Dalrymple. And in another draft Dalrymple wanted someone else, but B-Mac overruled him for Clay Smith. Not that I believe these things anyways, as how do people even know this for sure unless there.

Point being, it gives a mixed message on who actually has the power. I'm curious to whether we vote on as a group on the first pick (seeing it's predictable who will be around), with B-Mac having the final say on tied or close votes. Whether B-Mac makes his own call entirely. Or of we just leave it to J-Mac and the recruiting team only?

From how I understand it is this in the 2011 draft. Dalrymple I think thought Hayden Crozier was the best player available, but the coach wanted an inside midfielder which Dalrymple thought was Clay Smith. So basically Dalrymple picked the player, but Bmac had an influence as to what type of player was picked which is fair enough.

Dalrymple still has the final say on the player is picked and it's mostly his decision as it's his arse on the line. Jmac and Bmac would have some influence on what type of player the team needs and what type would fit in to Bmac's philosophy/plans for which they now have a points system in place that marks the talent and character of the player.

Hurry up already draft.
Thankfully we don't have to wait that long. As soon as Quayle's phantom goes up, we'll have a pretty good idea who we'll take. She's spot on with most of those top ten picks and has the early draft bang on almost always.

Which she does a day before the draft or the morning of the draft. Doesn't she?

If anyone is interested, Jay Clark and Sam Landsberger did their power rankings and mock draft.

Gibbons is at 16 in their power rankings. This is ahead of Freeman, Bontempelli, Hartung, Acres (25) to name just a few. Aish at 8.

A few obvious choices, and the rest is all over the place.
The order was picked by Champion Data - Clark and Landsberger just did the "WE SAY" section. Also known as they didn't do much at all.

I thought it was a couple of days beforehand? If it is the day of the draft, bugger. Too much speculation. :thumbsd:

My mistake. Either way it's not very good.

Damnit, I really want to look at this top 30 prediction by champion data but the site isn't working for me for some reason. I'm assuming the top 10 is the same as the one AFL Prospectus put on their facebook page?

Top 10 Power rankings:

1. Tom Boyd
2. Josh Kelly
3. Matt Scharenberg
4. Dom Sheed
5. Jack Billings
6. Lewis Taylor
7. Luke McDonald
8. James Aish
9. Kade Kolodjashnij
10. Ben Lennon

And their mock draft is here:
1.Greater Western Sydney Tom Boyd (KF)
2. Greater Western Sydney Josh Kelly (Mid)
3. St Kilda Jack Billings (Fwd/Mid)
4. Western Bulldogs James Aish (Mid)
5. Gold Coast Kade Kolodashnij (Def)
6. Collingwood Matthew Scharenberg (Def)
7. Brisbane Nathan Freeman (Mid)
8. North Melbourne Luke McDonald (Def/Mid)
9. Melbourne Christian Salem (Mid)
10. Collingwood Cameron McCarthy (KF)

She also said it's highly possible the saints or us will draft Scharenberg as well.

So Billings could fall to the Pies maybe? If Saints take Berger, we take Aish, GC take KK. I would hate that so much. Why does it feel like the Pies are going to walk away slaying this draft...
