I have a strong feeling our recruiters will pass on Aish if he's available, which is why I sort of want him to be selected earlier so a guy like Kelly might be available, someone I think our recruiters would select.

If Aish slips past 4, I suspect people are going to be wondering how he slipped so far in about 3-4 years time, similar to Selwood. Same applies to Lewis Taylor.

I'm still not at all enthusiastic about selecting Scharenberg. He's just too vanilla- too short to play KPP, not a high quality re-bounder, not that fast, and I'm not sure I buy the suggestion that he can play prolifically anywhere. I agree that Kade Kolodjashnij is the better pick (by the way, it's pronounced like Kolod-yashni for those having trouble with pronunciation).

If Aish gets selected by us, it would be a massive steal; can play as a HBF and through the midfield
Need more class players such as him/Kelly

Taken notes of any players for next years crop yet GB?

What would people think if we took KK at pick 4, i just think he suits our needs more, if we were to add him and get darley as expected we would have KK JJ Murphy, Goodes and Darley for hb. Meaning we wouldn't need to use Cooney or Macrae back there which adds to our outside run in the midfield. Plus from all reports KK isn't just a hb he can run through the wings aswell and at 188cm could develop into a taller mid aswell.

I think Aish's kicking efficiency was at 86.7% at the Championships. That is probably better than the 60% efficiency a majority of our players are probably averaging :D If he can win more of his own ball/contested ball, and grown into the game, he will be a very good player, and it would be good having a player with a foot like that on the team, especially the ability to do it with both feet.

DE% is the most useless stat ever invented.

Sam Power would have had a 98% DE but they were all 20m kicks sideways.

No more than the next guy. Clem Smith looked good from what I saw, not sure if he's a top 2 player though. Goddard played predominantly in defense and McCartin looked like a good marking target from what I saw. I was very impressed with what I saw of Jarrod Pickett for WA, but haven't heard anyone mention him yet.

While I very much agree with this, it should be noted that Aish is a very damaging player and kicks the ball forward most of the time.

Ok....so what are we looking at now for those last 2 picks? 42 and 60. Do we have a rookie spot available? I think just the one as we speak?

I reckon we'll grab a young ruck we can develop and possibly and small quick forward. I think those are 2 areas of our list we need to address.

Thought....suggestions.

DE% figures hugely inflated by playing 90% outside. SA were set inside so he played a much more DE friendly role.

He was also heavily tagged wherever he went which would normally affect a player's DE%. He took it a bit easier this season coming back from a shoulder injury, but was almost best on ground in the 2012 SANFL GF at the age of 16. His disposal and decision making is just truly, truly elite. It's like he knows how real time game situations are going to play out before anyone else.

I hope he slips to Pick 4, because I really do like the Bulldogs and I'm a huge fan of Aish (and Stringer was my favourite in the draft last year), so you're building a list of players I really enjoy watching.

Sideshow Ben would have to come into consideration with #42 if he is still there.

Don't be surprised if we draft someone who is from left-field as far as BigFooty is concerned. We certainly seem to just go for the players we like, rather than the conventional group-think (sometimes with mixed results... Mr Christian Howard.)

Just as long as we don't pick a smoky with pick 4!

I'm happy to pick up a smokey as long as they're good. Richmond to often picked the 'obvious' choice that bigfooty would have picked and consistently screwed it up.

Fair point.

Yes good suggestion Sideshow is a chance....also Conlon, Lobb, Apeness, Nankervis? Surely one of them would be about at 42?

I'd be GUTTERED if we passed on Aish

Couldn't resist :D

Lobb won't be there at 42 and I'm not really keen on Apeness or Nankervis there. Would be happy if we got Brown or Conlon.

Will we even have 42? If we get Darley or Mellington, would it be with a later pick?

Also, speaking of big men, Darcy Cameron from WA anyone?

Maybe even Aliir Aliir for a rookie spot?

Starting to feel like this is going to be somewhat of a boring draft for us. We'll pretty much know exactly who we're planning on taking at 4 by the draft, and we already know we're interested in Brown at 42. I dunno about you guys but I find it hard to believe we'd use 60ish in such a shallow draft. Additionally, given we're retaining all our rookies we won't have many rookie picks (if any) - and someone said on here a while back that we were looking to give that to Batsanis in a dual role.

Seriously? We're keeping Greenwood & the Redpath? I was informed by this board that they've done nothing for Williamstown and have no future with the Bulldogs.

I guess Addison's still a chance to leave.
