Not doubting we have visited the Koladjashnij family and have some interest in them, but if you can share, what is your source for your claim that we "... are keen to secure both brothers...."? That may well mean we would pass on Aish or Scharenberg, Kelly or Billings. Big call.
Im sure we have visited the families of several players we are looking to draft. Doesnt mean we are taking them though

Would love to draft brothers. I'm a sentimentalist.

So you would love this ???

M.Talia D.Talia J.Kolajashni
Z.Cordy B.Reid K.Kolojashni

A.Cordy M.Wallis J.Wallis
T.Liberatore O.Liberatore J.Selwood

A.Selwood S.Reid S.Selwood
A.Swallow Jo. Roughead** Ja. Roughead**

IC/ D.Swallow D.Grimes J.Grimes J.Foster*

* F/S only, as 3 Deslwoods gave the team an odd number
**I know they are cousins..... but they are very close..:p

Yeah. That's what I said when we drafted Jamie Grant......:)

PS: The Doggies don't have a stella history with brothers of good players from other clubs. Hello Ben Sexton, Sam Power, Patrick Bowden, Andrejs.....

Hopefully Mick Talia will change all that. :D

.

I know it's cool to bash Bryce Gibbs these days, but he would compliment our team very very well. If that's aish's worst case scenario as a player, I'll take it.
I don't mean to bash Gibbs but he wouldn't be in my top 20-30 mid sized players in the AFL that I'd love to have join the Bulldogs.

I just thought l would pass on what has occurred & what has been told to the family, my source is known to the family & works closely an immediate family member of the boys.
What transpires in the draft wait & see you may well pass on them who knows. Kelly is another Gaff, Aish is another Gibbs, Billings is another Didak. Maybe the Dogs see KK as another Pendlebury & deem he will be a better player who knows l don't.
Use the information as a discussion point or however you want its just one more post on big footy at the end of the day.

Thanks for posting mate, much appreciated!

You know what really grinds my gears? If the Saints take Billings and we take KK, Collingwood could well make out like bandits.

1. GWS - Boyd
2. GWS - Kelly
3. St Kilda - Billings
4. WB - Kolodjashnij
5. Gold Coast - Scharenberg
6. Collingwood - Bontempelli
7. Brisbane - Lennon
8. NM - McDonald
9. Melbourne - Freeman
10. Collingwood - Aish

This is very realistic should the top four dominoes fall as suggested, imo. Would make the Pies' list manager look a genius yet again.

Simple way to avoid that......just take the 2 time all Australian, 2 time sanfl premiership winning, silly midfielder that fits our list perfectly. Sometimes the answer is right in front of you dogs! Make it happen.

Cheers and thanks for that - I wasn't meaning to be disrespectful - merely wondering where your information came from, because it's a big call.

I know, and I'd be taking him too - just saying that if the cards were to fall that way, Aish could fall right into the Pies' hands.

Chances of Aish slipping to 11 round up to about.. 0%.

Pick 6? Sure, if they're happy to give up Bontempelli, but I highly doubt both Brisbane & Melbourne will pass. He might not suit their needs, but he's one of those players that's just too good to pass at 7 or 9.

I disagree. If there is even the slightest of rumours about a SA return, Brisbane will stay far, far away. Additionally, if part of the concern surrounding him is due to him being such an outside player, I find it difficult to see Roos being overly interested - if their recruiting manager is to believed, they were prepared to pass on him at 2 to get the man they wanted, and if that man is still there at 7 then there's no reason to suggest that they wouldn't pass on Aish again.

I don't think it will happen - but I definitely think it's more likely than 0%. Personally I think we should and will take him if he goes past the top three.

I know stranger things have happened, like Grundy sliding last year, but in this case, there's no 'because he's a ruckman' excuse.

I don't think Melbourne are going to pass on him because Roos likes inside midfielders. I think Melbourne just want to bring in high quality midfielders, and whilst someone like Freemen might complement their needs more, Aish is clearly the more talented player. Melbourne have pick 9 by the way, not 7.

As for Brisbane, yeah, there's a chance they'll be scared after losing 5 players to homesickness, but what are they gonna do? Recruit exclusively from Queensland? They have to take these risks; and while some will backfire, others will prove amazing pickups, like Sam Mayes (South Australian).

I just cannot see any feasible way Aish slides to the Pies second pick; even the Gold Coast would be a huge chance if we select Kolodjashnij. While he's exactly the type of player they have an abundance of, he's also exactly the type of player that arouses Scott Clayton, which is precisely why the Gold Coast have an abundance of these shortish, mostly outside, silky, skillful midfielders.

Just take Aish at 4, Jake Kolodjashnij at 42 and hope Kade gets drafted interstate so the lure of playing with his brother is strong.
I suppose karma could hit us and Aish could be a mummies boy too.
Tasmania not having an AFL team is why we can have nice things :p

Yeah you raise some great points and I can't argue with much of that at all. Guess we'll see where the cards fall closer to the draft, but I really think that one of Aish, Billings or Scharenberg are going to fall much more than most believe at the minute.

No issue Mutt not disrespectful, l knew when l posted it that someone would request to know where the information came from l hesitated before l posted the original post knowing it would likely come but at the end of the day for us big footy tragics , we live for this shite.

After an ordinary year that was saved by some great footy & hope in the last month or so of the season this is a great time discussing such an early pick l decided to post what l have been told. Im a tad disappointed in a way that Norths first pick is at 30, it just takes the speculation & debate out of it, having said that im very happy lith Luke McDonald.........anyway as you were.

There are some even weirder ones in Anderson's though. Cutler at 14 (I'm not even sure he'll get drafted...) and Merrett at 15 (second rounder at best I'd have thought) are way too early for mine. Taylor at 18?!
