Who's the best running half-back that might be available at 42??
No one seems to know who will go where after about 15 but from what I've read:

- Miller & Bourke are 2 good size, good kicking guys who might last to 42 who could play that role quite well.

- Wasley-Black is a similar type who was highly rated last year but had a mediocre season & should be in that range.

- Cutler & Robertson are slightly bigger 190+ guys who probably don't provide the same run but would be solid 3rd talls who could potentially run through the middle.

- Byrne-Jones is a quick & agile small defender who has some similar traits to Bob Murphy but might be a bit undersize.

- Battersby is a very small defender/mid who might still be around at 42 but is quite highly rated by a few on here.

There are probably plenty of other kids who could play the running defender role once drafted but these are the more obvious few that I have come across in that range.

Jason McCartney boarding a flight for Adelaide.

I wonder if he's off to have a chat to Aish/Scharenberg?
Cheers mate, love the info you give us, hasn't missed a beat yet! It's looking more and more likely we end up with Aish which would be fantastic!

So did Ayce before he was drafted...:(
True, but we can't not draft Conlon because he might turn out like Cordy. I can name a lot more players who take marks like that in juniors and go on to take them in AFL too than I can players who take marks in juniors and not in AFL. :P

C4 typically has great info so I have no doubt he's gone to Adelaide, but I imagine he'll be talking to all of the players we have even a slight interest in. Decision won't have been made yet. Don't get your hopes up.

He could be going to visit any number of players other than Aish
Actually its been reported a few clubs are interviewing Scharenburg again this week. We are one of them. Whether Aish is also interviewed i dont know

Membrey had an outstanding season in the NEAFL. Looks every inch a quality AFL footballer.
Fancy our chances of prying him away next year tbh. Simply won't get opportunity or much coin and is out of contract (I think). He'd be near the top of my list.

Fits in with the "monster utility" army that the Mccartneys seem keen to build Dannnnnnnn. Crameri, Grant, Stringer, Macrae, stevens, Young........Scharenberg perhaps.

I'm pretty sure we had a go at Kersten this year as well (no inside info, just a comment a Geelong spokesman made about a certain Melbourne club going hard at him with an offer of more opportunity; one of the contributing factors to Pods' delisting) so I wouldn't be surprised if we tried either.

And just to clarify, that is nothing to do with skill or character I just don't think there is a position for him in a modern team structure.

If that is true, then I think it will end up being KK. Can see the Saints actually taking Aish themselves.

1. GWS - Boyd
2. GWS - Kelly
3. Saints - Aish
4. Bulldogs - KK
5. Suns - Scharenburg

Can see it happening this way. Will actually throw most phantom drafts off, and make the rest of the draft become interesting.

There seems to be a lot of information that the first 3 picks are close to finalised...

1 - GWS - Boyd
2 - GWS - Kelly
3 - St Kilda - Billings

There was a draft piece on SEN last night, and a lot of noise that the Saints are massively into Billings at 3.

I've heard a bit of noise that we're into Bontempelli for pick 4. I don't want that at all.

Yes have heard the saints like Billings and it's rumoured they don't want to go for interstate players with the first rounders..........I don't want to get my hopes up....but we will have choice to make between Scharenberg and Aish.

Someone with more info might be able to tell me if KK uses his right foot for more than just balance.....he looks very left sided.

Anyone listen to Mitch Thorp's interview on SEN this morning? Sounds like he has really matured. If Brown is gone at 42 - should we???

Even though McCartney ruled out taking Thorp on radio ... I noticed that Mitch Thorp's management team have suddenly uploaded his highlights videos from this season in the TSL.
