Since when do interviews test intelligence? The people I know who perform well at any kind of interview are generally closer to the least intelligent people that I know.

How are the ruckmen in this draft? Currently, we only have three ruckmen on the list so I think it's pretty likely that we at least have a look at them.

Apeness and Lobb go alright but will most likely go before our pick, and I personally wouldn't want to take either of them. Ben Brown maybe at 42 or 60 but he's more of a fwd/ruck. It's not that good a draft for ruckmen.

Interviews are overrated. Is the kid a good kid?? Is he a team player?? Does he work super hard?? Does he know right from wrong?? Will he bleed for the club and the team?? If yes, then who cares how smart the kid is. I know its been used as an example before, but Dough Hawkins is barley literate and was an absolute maestro on the footy field.

Im a massive NBA fan and a couple of years ago my team (Golden State Warriors) drafted a guy on character off the back of his interview (guys name is Ekpe Udoh). We passed on a guy (Greg Monroe) because he didnt come and interview with us. Udoh wore a suit, spoke well and charmed everyone. And now he cant get off the bench for arguably the worst team in the NBA (Milwaukee) while Monroe is a young borderline All-Star with huge value around the league.

I think the player's character is more the focus of the interview, how hard they are likely to work at reaching their potential, this + the talent to be considered a top 5 pick should (in theory) land you a future star.

Yeah Nankervis looks a decent prospect. Big strong body, imposes himself on the contests, needs to work on his endurance though. However he would be decent stock to have in the event that Will goes down given that he is well built.

If I'm st kilda, is there a better guy than sheed to build their new midfield around in this draft?

Dunstan and Crouch would be great for them at 18/19.

Some left field prospects.

Interesting Alex Keath put his hand up. There was talk he would go 1st round if he didn't choose cricket in his draft year.

Hmm. Interesting. I'd never heard of this "draft" rule before... until now...

While Keath hasn't nominated for this year's draft, he could be taken under an AFL ruling that allows recruitment of players who haven't been registered for any Australian rules football club over the past three years.
LEFT-FIELD POSSIBILITIES FOR THIS YEAR'S DRAFT
ALEX KEATH
Age: 21. Sport: Cricket. Height: 197cm. Weight: 91kg
Keath isn't just some talented cricketer who could once play football. We are speaking about a key-position defender who was taken by the Gold Coast Suns in 2010 when they had access to the best dozen 17-year-olds in the country. Keath seemed to have so much time at his disposal when playing football and has the potential to go forward.

Didn't the Swans sign someone under this rule a couple of years back?

Would happily have Keath on our list.

So are we going to use pick 60?

It says who in the article when talking about another USA prospect that has trained with us before

I don't mind this. Harvey I like better then Hourigan and Lang looked good in the champs. Think Lang's kicking is a bit better then what was shown in the highlights video. Still would prefer someone with an elite kick like Miller.
Agree completely, I think Miller is my favorite at 42 but Lang & Harvey do address our 2 most obvious deficiencies - speed & a strong marking key forward.
Glad to read that Langs kicking is better than his highlights show because they are pretty ordinary.

Forgot about Talia, thought Daniel Pearce was the 2011 second rounder for some reason.

Either way, I still think use of first round picks is the barometer to determine how good a recruiter is, and so far, he's been so-so. Even when you highlight the success in the rookie draft, we still didn't get any real superstars- it's making the best use out of first rounders that count the most.

Howard was a terrible pick, Smith is a decemt high-floor, low-ceiling player and the jury's still out on Macrae, Hrovat & Stringer (although things are looking good).

The 27th is my Birthday and a lucky number of mine
Also the number Scharenberg wore for SA

27 + 27 = 54

 also our last premiership year, a sign of it coming to an end?

Wouldn't mind Charlie Cameron
183cm, 72kg Forward
The inside word
Small forward who plays a physical brand of football and displays an appetite for the contest. His ability to apply enormous defensive pressure to the opposition is a feature of his game. Has clean hands and leg speed.
