List Mgmt. 2013 DRAFT

The suggestion of Tuck is not without merit, well performed, great, slow-maturing pedigree, and everyone deserves a second chance (if they do their "time")

I've cooled on Tuck now (yes, in the space of 1 hour lol).

I think it would be irresponsible of the club to remove him from his current stable environment, given all that he has been through previously.

So you're saying Thorp doesn't really want to play AFL? He was playing in a league where several players were drafted from. Do you know why he went back to Tasmania?. So, essentially majority of Tassie players are crap, according to you.

And sure let's take another kid who's not going to make it.

Way to twist what I said.
What I did say was that the competition he is playing in is inferior to say the VFL and a bloke who was a top 10 draft selection should be playing well in that competition. Hypothetically if he was tearing up the VFL perhaps more clubs would have had a closer look at him at the ND.

I think that Scotland would be considered more LTI cover rather than a nominated rookie. I think that we will be chasing after a developed KPP (possibly a defender like Tippett) who would be the nominated rookie for next year. If things work out for them, they get a promotion to the full list.

The club has committed to taking Scotland as a nominated rookie. That would have been a major reason why Scotland agreed to the 'demotion'.

With two veterans on the senior list next year the club will have room to nominate a 2nd rookie alongside Scotland. Looks likely that will be Cachia but let's see who we pick up this morning.

Brenden Abbott.

188 cms, lightening quick (2.87 over 20 metres) - already 95 kgs! and a fantastic verticle leap.

Good size on him - dare I say it ... Tom Bell like? :p

Guys that I'd like to see get another shot and would fit in at Carlton:

Anthony Miles, Aaron Cornelius

Kids I wouldn't mind seeing rookied by us who missed out in the ND:

Kane Lambert, Cameron Conlon, Darcy Cameron, Isiah Miller, James Tsitas, Ben Cavarra, Fraser Fort

Any combination of these players (as long as we get 1 x ruck amongst them) and I'll be happy.

we've spoke with cornelius, conlon & miles over the past few days. Thorpe is a definite no.

I remember watching Cornelius as a junior. All the talent in the world, but just never made the grade up in Brisbane.
Wouldn't be against offering him a rookie spot today.

Is there any chance that McCarthy or Mitchell would be looked at as rookies ??? Are they even taking part in the rookie draft (e.g. have they nominated) ???

Looks like No Tippett for us after hearing Swann on SEN.

Said that last year we were interested in him - however when we spoke to him, he told us he didn't want to leave Adelaide, the AFL contacted Tippett and told him that if he wanted only to remain in Adelaide - he would need to pull out of the draft (because it could be seen as tampering - sounds like it runs in the family!).

Swann said he didn't know if we were still interested this year, but if it were up to him - he'd pass, given what happened in 2012.

So prediction time.

12. Carlton - Cameron Conlon.

We've reconnected with the kid in the last week; is perfect as a long term project; and the main competition (Bombers) are now supposedly interested in Jolly.

Not sure anyone else would grab him in first round.

Although if Eli Templeton is still there at 12 (unlikely) - we have to strike. Don't think he'll be there but someone who's been rated as high as 15 in this years national draft pool is a bargain here.

I like this selection.

I too would take Conlon at #12, but I think Essendon will be weighing up between he and Cameron.

Is Collingwood already locked in for their one selection? He would be our other threat.

Yeah I like Darcy Cameron, too C4 and would be happy taking either at our first. Pies supposedly locked into re-rookie-ing Corey Gault so no competition there.

I'd say Port will grab a tall ruck type so they may pounce at 13, too.

30 minutes to go. Will be the shortest (and likely the last) PSD in history.

1. GWS - Jed Lamb
2. Pass
3. Pass
4. Pass

etc etc

http://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/2013-11-27/blues-to-add-five-rookies

The Blues will pass selections in the Pre-Season Draft as the Club has already filled its minimum quota of 38 primary-listed players, with veterans Jarrad Waite and Kade Simpson included on that list.

Five selections in the Rookie Draft with 2 spots to be used for Scotland (nominated rookie) & Ciaran Sheehan.

So 3 picks to come.

Hurry up and get it over with!!!

That's not going to happen Dram.

Scotland will be re-drafted as a nominated rookie which was always going to happen.
