Guys, heard good things about Lewis Taylor (Squizzy) from Geelong Falcons.
Big raps about having a sensational TAC cup season who is fast and aggressive even if he is short. I like the idea of a kid who dominates where he is just looking at Joel Selwood, Allen Christenson and Dan Talia rather than looking for potential as I think we got burned on Sugar Lucas and Boots that cost first round picks.
I not saying that they are bad players but seem to be more "project" players.
As a club we need to be really careful over the next 2 years with our recruitment otherwise things could get ugly for CFC.:(

Lucas is only getting a good run at it after his earlier issues with his hamstring. Boots is definitely a project player since he is about 12 kilos off from where he needs to be.

how many picks do we think we will have?
and what will the spread of types of players we will be looking for?

this draft seems to be a midfield draft, with only Boyd, McCarthy and Gardiner being the quality talls so I wonder do we pick a tall or do we stick to midfielders unless one of the above slips to our pick.

I think short guys get a bad rap, being short or being slow really destroys a players chances of getting drafted high, the good thing about that is they tend to be gems that can be picked up mid draft.

Agreed, Boots could be a great HBF/Wing but he could be 4 years in before we get value back. for what it's worth I like the kid and have been happy with him playing 9? games this year.

I'd like to see Boots developed as someone that can play HB, but can also push up onto a wing if needs be Such a penetrating kick - he'd be deadly between the arcs. Needs another preseason though.

If clowns here start with the Boots through the middle garbage I will deadset chunder. Lets push Jamo and Hendo through the middle too. fmd

Big difference between playing through the guts and out on a wing. No reason why we can't develop him into a damaging player on the wings. Has all the attributes to be a very good player in that position.

Agreed. Just leave that through the middle shit out of it. You don't send a stick insect into a grinding machine to get you a sausage. Analyze that, ffs.

get your bucket ready..... I actually think Boots would make a very good wingmen, not a midfielder, I like the idea of a hb line with simmo and McInnes and tuohy.
back to drafting tho, what is the collective thinking of Jonathon Marsh, has pace a bit of x factor. i'll draw some comparison to Tim Membery
