Won't be long before we all start talking about the upcoming draft and we'll need a stand-alone thread for doing so.

We won't truly know what selections we'll have until after the trade period but we do know that Adelaide is excluded from the first two rounds at this stage, unless they trade themselves back in.
We'll also probably find out later today as to what the situation will be with Essendon. They're likely to be wiped from participating through the first two rounds but we'll just have to wait and see.

We do also know that GWS have activated their compo pick and will use it at pick #10
Gold Coast have also activated their end of first round selection, which for now stands at pick #19

Given all those scenarios Carlton currently have the following selections:

I'll endeavour to keep the OP updated as relative information rolls through.

Question is now: Who do we want at those picks?

Wouldn't mind picking up another 2nd rounder in the range of 20-30.

We'd have to be targetting midfield talent in this draft. However, if we could somehow get a pick around 15-20? We could possibly pick up Gardiner around that.

WCE are in an interesting position.

Do they rebuild? or tweak?

I really feel like MM wants to make his mark with his own list and that means trading out players who he wouldn't have selected in the first instance.

I personally believe we should keep Yarran, but my thoughts would be MM would trade him in a heartbeat for a pick inside the top 10.

Get as many pick upgrades as possible by trading out played who are not needed. We need as much young talent on our list as possible. This draft and trade period is soo important. All decisions must be spot on.

In fear of posting in the wrong thread, does anyone suggest we could get a 2nd rounder out of Robinson? Possibly GWS who don't really need there pick 18, and could do with a hard big bodied mid. We could use this pick to grab Gardiner as a developing defender.

yes possibly but perhaps MM knows now whether or not he can get Yarran onboard his game plan...if he can't and he has good currency.....

I really want to see a rebuild and trade aggressively for plenty of draft picks and/or second/ third year players who are on the fringe at other clubs like GWS. Personally I reckon if we just tweak we are kidding ourselves and real success will take a lot longer than taking tough medicine right now. We are a long way from being contenders and need to recognise this.

Pretty much. I would be loathe to trade Yarran when he was one of the few in the side against Essendon that actually tried to win.
