If we going to cut between 8 to 10 players, we are going to need a lot more picks than that.
Give the last two picks are rookie upgrades, I'd say we'll probably draft 4 kids in the nationals if we can get those picks under 30, and also with trades which will bring at least a couple in. Rookie drafts are always nice since we always seem to be able to find contributors in them.

I assume that you have to use a draft pick on a Limited Free Agency pick like Thomas ? Can anyone confirm that please ?

The only way we'd need to part with something for Thomas is if Collingwood decide to match our contract offer and Daisy chooses us.

Free agents, restricted and unrestricted, can move between clubs without their new club parting with any draft picks. The AFL rewrds clubs who lose a player via free agency with a draft pick, which in itself is a ridiculous notion.

Can we call him Blakres?

"Can we call you Uncle Blackey?"

Would love to select Darcy Hourigan with our first selection.

Reminds me of Fev.
IF, we do get 4 picks under 30 with some posters' scenarios working out, it would be fantastic to get inside mid, Crouch or Sheed, and then Hourigan with our second.

Northern Blues were a little under whelming this year. I am sure Mick will want to rejuvenate our youth stocks.

No, you don't.

Draft best available rather than position specific I reckon..get as much pure talent in the group as possible and mold them from there.

Not sold on Acres being a first rounder. Have seen alot of his game, and dont think he'd be worth the gamble there.

Sounds like a Houlihan/Duigan lovechild. Do you think he would make it to our first pick?

Unfortunately he can have number 25 too

Admittedly, I don't know a whole lot about the crop this year, but from the little I do know - yeah he would still be around.

Good question. I can't recall.

GWS have activated what is currently to be pick #9 (Mid first rounder) whilst GCS have activated what is now to be pick #18 (End first rounder)

How many more of these compensation picks are still around? Anyone?

i'm not sure but its becoming ridiculous

Not saying I disagree with BluesMan, who told you he was an average kick?

Read it in a few articles. Must admit that I haven't seen him play but from all reports his ball use is considered reliable although he won't cut up teams with it and Malthouse seems to like having his best ball users setting up from defense.

What pick do we get if Betts left and we didn't get Thomas?

If I had to choose now I would probably draft these guys with our first and 2nd.

1st rounder for Nathan Freeman ( mid/fwd) Judd/Dangerfield type with explosive pace and 2nd rounder for Patrick Cripps ( 6 foot 2 Inside extractor type mid whose inside game is apparently only 2nd to Matt Crouch).
