All I was suggesting is that anyone who is expecting anything more than normal for this off season, could be disappointed. If we do get extra picks/upgrades or trade in 2-3 good players, then great, but I'm not expecting anything a whole lot different to any other year to happen.
Considering the club has done only the mandated minimum during recent draft/trade periods, I hope you are wrong. That said, I don't see Carlton's line-up resembling an all-star NBA Conference team next season.

Even though we added Michael Jordan to the team this year? :p

Given our specific needs and the reported willingness of the parties involved, I believe the most
practical trade option is to package a deal that nets us Docherty and Staker from Brisbane.

This year has produced a good deal of dejavu to date, with largely the same trade "bait" being
thrown up. The notion of trading Hampson or Warnock to Brisbane is, I believe, fanciful.
Warnock has long stated the desire to be in Victoria, and the contracted Hampson, who is
obviously tied to Megan Gale, making Sydney a possible destination, but certainly ruling
out Brisbane as a destination, despite Hammer's origins.

Also of note is that all of the hypothetical best 22's for 2014 that I have seen don't contain
one L.Casboult. Given Brisbane's specific needs I am surprised Levi has not been put out
there by other "armchair recruiters". Another player would be necessary, we need to maintain
our early round picks to add mids, and hopefully a young KPP to the list (given the demise of
McCarthy and Mitchell)

Staker, a swingman, could play in any key position, so could offset the loss of Levi. Of course
this would require Hampson being retained as a ruck back up (at least), something I have no
problem with. My research also leads me to believe that the drafting of Mitch Thorp would have
plenty of merit. If he was the "tool" that has been reported, I find it difficult to believe that he
could motivate the club he captain/coached to a fairytale premiership. He starred in the interstate
game V the NEAFL, and while AFL is a step up he has shown all of the attributes.

Would be a great get ...but other clubs would also have him on their radar

If this is true and you're offering feasible solutions, then I'd love to see your proposal that will get us Boyd.

You're still missing the point. We'll only have three first round picks if we give up a quality player and a pick or another player. The cost is too high.

I don't want to give up a Kreuzer, Yarran or Gibbs. I was thinking more on the lines of trading Warnock.

how did Temay go this year? I didn't hear much about him?

(ftr: not disagreeing. Just looking for opinions ions on the kid)

Only saw him play once, but he certainly knows how to find the footy and uses the ball really well.
Will help him no end to get a big preseason under his belt.

cheers lads.

Perhaps unrealistic, but I always hope our first couple of picks see some league football in their first season

HARKER would be better placed to answer this, but I think Temay could play senior footy next year.

Both of these blokes are too small / short.

We have a history of recruiting dwarfs (by AFL standard).

Just my opinion.
Puopolo is a premiership player. I had to google him to find out his first name. Wouldn't recognise him if I stepped on him in the street.

Brad Hill, Jed Anderson and Rioli are small.

They don't need to be big if they can play and have the want.

Same sizes as Kieran Jack and Dan Hannebery.

We've got bigger bodies coming through such as Robinson, Curnow, Gibbs, Cachia and Bell. Not saying we don't need more but I'm not concerned about our midfield being undersized if Graham and Temay team up with these guys.

Addition by subtraction. Would anyone consider this type of deal.

Murphy and 12 to GWS for 1, 9, 20 and Adams.

1 gets you Boyd. 9 and a player could maybe get you Swallow or S. Selwood, 20 gets you D. Garlett or sliding mid. Our 2nd gets you Docherty.

Murphy gets you Boyd, Swallow and Adams. 1st gets you Garlett or young mid.

There is no way on this sweet earth a team actively trades its Captain... Geezus.

Although I reckon Collingwood would like to...
