Better start watching Cripps' highlights and read any articles about him over and over again people.

Is too much to ask for a BF meltdown after Norf reads out the wrong player number and loses McDonald?

If true to form, Norf will looked like they have completely nailed the draft 3/4 of the way through and then somehow completely F it up at the end....

Q re Lennon. Is touted as top-10 (or just outside) - I find that unusual for a 189-cm forward. As was discussed earlier, mid-sized forwards rarely go early. It seems to be all midfielder, tall KPP and elite HBFers at the top.

Is it that Lennon's skills are so clean? Or that he has the potential to play midfield? If so, why hasnt he already? (I did read he avg quite a lot of possies for a fwd and quite a few contested too).

Not having a go at the kid, genuinely trying to 'figure him out'. Based on height, skills, versatility (?), would it be fair to say you would hope he turns out like Andrew Walker (without the elite endurance)?

Also, not sure why I have read just about every damn post in this thread and continue to read through the night before the draft when I have so much work to do before some key meetings tomorrow. Surely I (we) should just go to bed, wake up tomorrow and see the results. I've read about 50 draftees recently when I could have just waited til tomorrow night and read up on the three that count. All this second-guessing is so damn addictive!!!!

* oh yeah, if I'd taken my own advice as above, I would have missed out on all the engrossing do we / don't we discussions re Thorp. What was I thinking....

In a word - awesome.
Do as much or as little as you like over there.
And its never cold, and that is great when you live in Melbourne.

I was there in July / August...Maui, Kaui...Loooooovved it, two years in a row ha

Yes the weather is perfect

if we pick up cripps whilst McCarthy was still avaliable provided all the other gun mids are gone i would be very disappointed.

blues need a talented forward

We need to replenish our midfield stocks just as urgently as we need a key forward.

If we take Cripps over those you mention it's because we believe he's the better fit.

Same. Dont know what to make of this, many experts didnt rate him in the top 20.
At least the kid will be able to get out of Geraldton.
I am preparing myself to be disappointed tomorrow night, like i was after the 2011 draft.

Well we will address a need regardless. I was surprised to hear that Mick thought we needed more outside run in the finals as I thought run was an area we are well served in if we are actually putting in the work. Walker and Simmo from half back, Murph, Garlett and Yarran coming down to the wings and Lucas who is the consummate runner. With Daisy and Everitt who love to run, that is an area we have addressed.

I have said all year I would like a genuine gun inside mid with decent foot skills as they ones we have are not class or great kicks for the most part. McLean could be but he really is not a gun clearance player.

Pros for Cripps - A natural clearance player, decent foot skills, good vision. There are others of this ilk probably rated higher however we have to remember that Cripps has grown 20cm in 2 years and while his height will be an attribute, he's still getting used to it. He said that he feels like a small player in a big players body. He just needs to learn to use that size and I can see by the way he keeps his arms free and gets high handballs off, his inside game could be similar to the reinvented Kouta.

I don't know. I reckon colon is full of sh*t

Nice  where was that 'n'?
We just need a few more fwds after #13 to balance us out a bit more
