My concern is Cripps at 13 appears like a needs pick. Not best available. First pick should always be best available.
No one hear even mentioned Cripps until we begun to be linked to him. Did anyone hear rate him for pick 13 after watching him play? As ODN said on previous page, what has changed in the last couple of weeks to make him suddenly a first round pick?
This is clearly a case of you reading too much into what is written on BigFooty. What happens "here" doesn't matter.
The phantom drafters who give their time and effort to provide us with their thoughts on the draft prospects are fantastic in the analysis they provide and they should be commended for their efforts. However, the reality is they only know a fraction of the story. They don't anywhere near the access to these players that recruiters do.
Can the phantom drafters give us any insight into how the players interviewed? That's just as important as what they've produced to this point in time on the field, if not moreso.
As I said earlier, if we draft Cripps it's because of all those who were available at our selection, he was deemed to be the best fit for the club. If you'd prefer to side with what the BigFooty "experts" and journalists have to say, that's your business and good luck to you. I can tell you I'll certainly be siding with the blokes who pick talented kids for a living and have invested countless hours meeting the players, have analysed each player ad nauseum, have met a plethora of times with the list managers and coaches at the club and who are clearly best placed to make these decisions.

As far as urgency goes, I can't see Cripps breaking into our 22 on a regular basis until 2016, regardless of how good he is - our midfield depth is sufficient to keep any teenager out.
