Now that we have made our last trades for the year, would be good to see people's final team and their thoughts on them. What they would change and where they think they went right/wrong.

Reasonably happy with where I finished with my team. Only two things that I am not that happy about.

First is having to keep Gibbs playing when Heppell went down, he was good bench cover prior and the second would be to have not kept a hold of K.Jack for so long. Had so much faith that he would bounce back but has been really disappointing for quite a while now. If I had one more week of trades it would be them two.

Very happy about the Montanga trade in, he has been great and also keeping Leuy early on in the year paid off immensely. Getting Selwood early before everyone else jumped on and also having Enright from very early on.

Heres mine post trades
overall ranking 183
2 big grand finals for good $$ this weekend.

Trades I went with are TMitchell --> Jelwood (have to get him just to nullify both opponents) and moved ROK to bench.
Heppell --> Heath Shaw (best defender I could afford) as I have no cover in defense and am worried about Hanley/Scotland being late withdrawals.

Obviously my trades are still up in the air at this stage. I am really tempted to roll the dice and bring in someone like Boyd against Melbourne rather then to match my opposition. Also unsure wether to play Hanley on the field or not

God our teams are almost identical, 4 different and that's it. Yea I agree with you, I don't think you can not have Jelwood, most inform player of the comp currently.

Smart minds ey?

I am absolute filthy at Ross Lyon, I traded Ibbotson over Heppel last week based on his comments about Ibbo going backwards in his recovery and Heppel being a chance this week. Idiot move in hindsight.

Any thoughts on my defense dilemmas

DARDanup Ducks
DEF: Goddard, O'Brien, Gibbs, Duffield, Enright, Ellis (Pittard, Clisby)
MID: Swan, Pendlebury, Barlow, Montagna, Griffen, Masten, Beams, Jelwood (GAJ, KMartin)
RUC: Cox, Minson (Nicholls, Moller)
FWD: SJ, Rockliff, Hansen, D.Martin, Stokes, NRoo (Mayes, Staker)

Backline for me is weak... but Heppell and Hendo out and others having indifferent seasons makes this the norm...

Pretty happy with Rucks, Forwards... but my ruck bench is shot - couldn't afford trading Grundy in.
Did the JJK->Hansen and Henderson->Harry O trades

GAJ on the field in place of Griffen (McKenzie tag)? Or Masten? Such a hard decision.

Captain choice out of Swanny and SJ tough as! SJ has had only the one score below 100 this year I think, but Brisbane aren't his fave team, although a 129 earlier this year is tempting. The Pig perhaps edges him out so far but there's still a few more hours to change my mind.

Hope I can rise from around 5000th to inside the top 3000 with a 2300++ score... wouldn't be bad for a 2nd year player! 2451 last week was awesome :D
And win a GF from 8th in a league ranked 300th :thumbsu:

Gaj and Griffen over Masten imo

You've gotta back in those averages

Rest of the team looks solid

some odd players who i would never thought I would pick at the start of the year hell even a couple of months ago namely Libba, Hansen, Wellingham and Harry O

only had goddard, gibbs, pendles, swan, GAJ, Cox, Rowe, Martin, Rockliff for the whole year

i ended up doing kieren jack (instead of cotchin) for libba (instead of watson and griffen) and heppell for duffield (instead of malceski, shaw and company). not 100% of confident but hopefully I can win my cash league!

Final Team for 2013:
Bac: Goddard, Gibbs, Enright, Hanley, Ellis, Grimes (Birchall, Wilson)
Mid: Swan (c), Ablett, Pendlebury, J.Selwood, Barlow, Beams, Watson, Liberatore (S.Mitchell, Hunter)
Ruc: Minson, Roughead (Grundy, Moller)
Fwd: Johnson (vc), Riewoldt, Rockliff, Martin, Bartel, Cloke (Kennedy, Rowe)

Before the last round Jack and Cox were in my team instead of Liberatore and Minson.

And to think it started out like this!
Bac: Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Hanley, Pittard, Goodes (Stevenson, Heath)
Mid: Swan (c), Ablett, Cotchin (vc), Pendlebury, Lucas, Wines, O'Meara, Viney (Jones, K.Mitchell)
Ruc: Jacobs, Blicavs (Rowe, Currie)
Fwd: Cox, Bartel, Rockliff, Robinson, Kennedy, Karnezis (Macaffer, Dwyer)

Only 10 players who started the reason in my squad finished the season with my squad, only 9 players stayed in my squad of 30 throughout the entire season. 102 different players have been in my squad of 30, which is almost unbelievable. Not sure how many of them got in the 22. I reckon most of them would have.

My final team:
D: Goddard, Enright, Hanley, Gibbs, Ellis, Shaw (Grimes, Wilson)
M: Swan, Pendlebury, Ablett, Jack, Rockliff, Mitchell, SSelwood, Watson (Carter, Mitchell)
R: Minson, Cox (Grundy, Grimley)
F: Johnson, Stokes, Lewis, Kennedy, Wellingham, Bartel (Staker, Daniher)

Should have been Mundy instead of Mitchell at the end but he was rested (along with half the team). The backline, probably most peoples backlines, was a revolving door basically from the bye rounds. Would love to have gotten rid of Kennedy but I was sentimental and couldn't be stuffed given I had injuries to deal with, no granny's and no shot at the 50k.

Ending up tinkering back and forth another 100 times over the course of that Friday and in the end went with my gut and backed in Boyd over Jelwood. Was a good move. My other trade was to bring in Harry O which cost me a donut and a finish inside top 100. Win some you lose some.

Yea same, I brought in Harry O as well. Had Malceski for cover though so wasn't completely disastrous. What was your score for the round? I got 2412.
