Don't think they'd start a game at 8:15pm, getting too late.
They do for Friday Night games in Adelaide. Your comment had way too much common sense for it to be realistic.

Oh really? Typical AFL I suppose...

7.40pm is already too late IMO.

I thought 7.10pm was pushing it.

As I said I remember going to Lions v Eagles in 2009, with a 6.10pm start and I thought that was a good time to start.

i really wanna see brisbane play the bummers when they are in their usuall mid season decline instead of playing them smashing brisbane when everyone thinks they will win the premiership

Yeah clashing with a Broncos game would be no good. As for your Uni tough shit lol
I've honestly only been able to make two Broncos home games this year because of Uni commitments.

Luckily I've been able to make every Lions home game so far this year (and the Suns away trip).

I'd like more twilight Saturday night games. Ideal. 7.40 is too late

So, Rich v Carl looks to be locked in to open round 1, which coincides with our traditional free to air game time slot on Easter Thursday. While a Thursday night double header is possible, it would be surprising if Seven decides to broadcast both on free to air, particularly when the second game may not finish until after midnight in Victoria.

I think there is a possibility that we may not get our traditional Easter Thursday game. The AFL will probably give us a Friday Night game to "compensate".

I'll have a go at making a fixture (trying to make it as realistic as possible):

Home = maroon
Away = blue
All times local times. This fixture will be done under the assumption that I can't move back the starting time of the Saturday Night games.

(Edit: just forgot that last round is floating. Just as long as it is an afternoon game, the Bombers can melt) :D

More whompment of port would be great :D I wouldn't mind seeing them and the pies get their backsides handed to them twice a year.

More Saturday - Less Sunday games please. Bigger crowd, better atmosphere, footy under lights.

Really hurts turning up to work on Monday after a Sunday arvo game
I've always prefered afternoon games to night games, especially as they start far too late nowadays.

The fact that I rarely drink would also play a factor.

Also the 3.15pm game v Melbourne this year got over 22k, not a bad crowd.

When the Lions gave away a sh!tload of tickets... I know you prefer afternoon games, I've just read three pages of you telling us so.

There needs to be a balance, though. I'd also love to see a home Saturday afternoon game or two thrown in, but we haven't had one of them for a long time so I'm not too hopeful.

Overall not a bad effort Everton :thumbsu:

I'm pretty sure we have a contract with the AFL that we play Easter Thursday till about 2015.

round 1 easter thursday could be

17:40 Tigers v blues MCG

20:40 (19:40 QLD time) Lions v Pies at the gabba

I'll have another go at making a fixture (accommodating other people's wishes of more Saturday games):

Home = maroon
Away = blue
Again all times are local times. This fixture will be done under the assumption that I can't move back the starting time of the Saturday Night games.

My memory escapes me on the release date for the following season's fixture, and I know it is usually mid October, but has the AFL announced an actual release date for the 2013 fixture?
