Thoughts on our fixture for 2013?

Looks pretty good, wonder why we are stuck playing the Saturday before ANZAC Day though, surely make more sense to have it Friday night, but then again AFL has to look after Pies so they'll be playing then!!

Only 1 trip to Perth vs Freo and 1 trip to Adelaide vs Crows. Very happy about that!

On the other hand, not as happy about the game vs Geelong at Simmonds
About time we play Port & West Coast in Melbourne. But i find it hard to believe we AGAIN have to play Brisbane at the Gabba haven't played them in Melbourne since 2009!

We have to beat the best anywhere to be the best. So hopefully we can. :)

Always drawn good crowds when we've played them at the G or Etihad. A Saturday night in Geelong???? Please! Good luck getting a ticket!

Hmmm, that is a bit annoying - Sydney are playing at the SCG that Friday before flying to NZ

Play Friday night games against Coll, Haw and Rich.

Carlton on a Monday night.

Just 3 games at the MCG- Richmond twice and Melb once.

11 games at Etihad. First in R4.

Only one Saturday night game at Etihad for the whole year. From memory we haven't lost one of those during the H&A rounds since about 2003, so that is pity to just get the one of them.

Six games that we would start very short in the betting in (if they were played tomorrow) and the rest are all looking like even money bets or worse, so if we play finals next year we'll have earned it. Need to get off to a good start, as there are plenty (6) of tough looking games in the first 8.

Apparently North have a brutally tough draw, while Adelaide have another piss-easy one. I hear that Carlton's start to the year is so easy they could be 11-0 at the half way point!

They vs the mighty saints so maybe 10-1. :p

I like it. Seems very fair for where we finished on the ladder. Some easy stuff but some toughies. Those games against Richmond are going to be absolutely vital to both teams playing finals.

Finishing with 2 games at Etihad to lead (hopefully) into finals should help us get some momentum going :thumbsu:

Was hoping that they might have done us some favours, as we missed the finals this year and are supposedly "on the decline", but we've been hit with a draw that has been rated as a fair bit more difficult than Adelaide's (who just missed the granny) and pretty much on a par with Sydney (who just won the flag) and Freo, who are clearly on the up and won a final this year, so that hasn't happened.

Looking at who is likely to improve next year, it is also quite possible that 4 of the 5 teams we play twice will make the finals next year (Sydney, Freo, Carlton, Richmond), so that makes it more difficult.

Glad that we don't have as many 6-day breaks though, that's something. :thumbsu:

@stkildafc: @stkildathunda currently in discussion with a club on a replacement game for NZ. hoping to have this locked in and communicated next week
