Side benefit of being a Swans fan - the guy's a gun but gets overlooked by most because of the media focus elsewhere. Most of the DT focus this pre-season seemed to go to Kennedy which is actually kinda odd as he's more of a SC player. Kieren's preference for quick kicks out of clearance, his endurance and his pretty regular stream of goals per goal make him a very handy DT player, if a few paces off premo elite. Still, very good value for money and, like I said, super consistent.

Exactly, because he doesn't have 'massive' notoriety he seems to go under the radar in not only DT, but general afl discussion much less than he deserves. JPK offers massive value in SC always but that has seemed to transfer into DT also...
All in all, with the Swans relatively easy start to the season and his allround good DT potential, we could see a nice little price rise from Jacky boy

Plenty of people critical of Martin's second halves but a solid score of 93 in a close game is all that I ask. It's not easy to score sitting down in the Richmond forward line in second halves seeing as they finish so poorly.

You take his 80s and 90s of course, but there's a big what if to his scores that tantalises. Even knowing how his second halves tend to go when he's plonked at FF with crappy delivery (and sometimes non-existent delivery) at halftime when he's sitting on 56 or so you can't help but dream.

He has pumped out those 120 point scores before though. He was chosen on scoring potential for me. He shows just how quickly he can rack them up in his first halves, it's just about finding ways to score in second halves when Richmond tend to slow and when he goes forward. Cotchin and Deledio really lift but Martin doesn't have the stamina yet.
The better Richmond get, the better Martin will score. In games that Richmond win easily, Martin should score well. He just doesn't tackle enough to do well when his team isn't. He is definitely more outside than he was a couple of years ago.
What was good to see was the handball receives. He was doing that a couple of years ago when he was scoring well.

If you have been watching the dogs game this year, Picken isn't playing as a midfield tagger anymore. Playing more a forward lock down role. Did extremely good last week, was one of our best.
