That's a nearly perfect set of delistings imo.

Royal - ****ing FINALLY.

Gillies, Sellar, Davis - depth, nothing more, all at the same position too.
Tynan - possibly unlucky, but a late pick to begin with. Behind many others for a backline spot.
Couch - just not AFL level.

Dunn - contracted. Nicholson too I think? I reckon Magner might get a year. Strikes me as the type that Roos would like on the list.

Dunn could still be traded. But I will leave him be.

Magner won't get a year, and we can trade rooking now.

Need 7-8 spots on the list:

Draft - 4 picks
Trade/free agengy: 2 of Daisy/Scooter/Adams + 1-2 other senior mids.

2-3 new rookies. (Stark stays on)
 
8 players gone with the retirees - 7 of them from the senior list.

Hogan - 6 spots left
4 players taken in the draft (1, 19, 36, 54) - 2 spots left
Magner, Clisby upgraded - 0 spots left

So, we will probably need to trade or delist at least 2 more, to make another draft pick and/or free agency signings. If Sylvia leaves that frees up a spot. Clisby could possibly see another year on the rookie list too, and Magner is no certainty to be upgraded (although i'm sure someone posted something here recently, from instagram, strongly indicating from Magner that he will be around next year?)

Glad those players are gone, whilst I think Sellar perhaps edged Pedersen as a player that ****ing stupid 3 year deal is really hurting us. I doubt we'll delist any more players until after trade week, but when we do I expect to see probably another 5-6 go.
 
I have no idea who is contracted or not, but I'd be adding Bail and Nicholson to the delisted list. Possible trades?

I'd upgrade Magner and leave Clisby on the rookie list for another year to let him prove himself.

I'd also look at how much interest is in Jamar. If we can use him to sweeten a deal for someone like Adams, I think we should consider it. Fitz should have more time in the ruck next year, and Spencer and Gawn will be competing for #1 ruck spot. And let's not forget Mitch who I personally think could become our #1 ruckman or at least play that back up ruck with our forwardline looking very solid now.

Overall, happy with the delistings. Would like to keep our #2 pick in the draft unless we can snare someone like Crouch from Adelaide.

I think you'll find that Clarke was also given the same assurances pretty much, never to be played as the number ! man basically, relief in the foward line, thats it.

Jamar over Gawn for the moment, and anybody over Byrnes.
 
Great delisting. No doubt about it for me.

For those who think they didn't get much of a go... If your to crap to get a proper run at Melbourne there is probably a few solid reasons why you've been cut.

Also Royal and Brown out! Great, they both disappointed me.
