Ah yes i understand now! Rd 10 2012 Melbourne defeat Essendon by 6. No Gillies. Rd 2 2013 Essendon record their biggest win over Melbourne by 148 points...Gillies played.
So Melbourne + Gillies = Horrible gut wrenching feeling. Thanks for the clarification lads. I think we should change our name to 'No Gillies Club'

It wasn't an experiment, it was an insurance policy. For a start he was excellent in the win against Essendon last year, and has been solid otherwise. No point delisting him for some skinny speculative fifth round KPD kid IMO.

Last part is true, I think we may have to delist him if we want to trade in players or pick up a free agent.

It comes down to whether we'd have Sellar on the list or some young players like Taggert, Tynan or Davis in the end.

Either way, I'd be happy to re-rookie him.

1) Gillies (Awful.)
2) Bail (for his own health)
3) Davey (simply not good enough)
4) Joel Mac (Dunno contract status, I'm a fan but doesn't offer much)
5) Jetta

6r) Couch (see Magner)

Coupled with Sylvia leaving as UFA.

That way instead of Boyd and probably Sharenburg, we would get (probably) Aish, Sharenburg and Adams.

Ie/ 2 quality mids and a half back/utility as opposed to a key forward and a half back/utility.

The idea has merit, but a lot of water has to go under the bridge first before any of the above scenario can play out.

Personally, I think if we lose this week to GWS we will get the #1 pick by way of PP.
If we win, I still think its a 50/50 decision.

If we are granted the PP, the issue of trading it may well come down to whether Watts decides to stay or leave.

The Taylor Adams, part will come down to if he wants to play for us.

Davey, Gillies and Jetta gone. One of Taggert and Tynan would also be in trouble. Stellar and Macdonald the next two to go. 5-6 players delisted there.

Lazy statement. Rodan is no world beater but he's had some good games for us this year. He's not essential and I won't exactly shed a tear if he's moved on but as a cheap mature body he can still fill a role in a very weak midfield.

Joel Mac has been injured though so hard to say on him... seems all of em have at one stage this year :/
Jetta Magner and Couch... there must be something to why they arent playing at top level... Hope they stick around for the new coach as the players seem to like em so its not a social issue I don't think... maybe he (they) just had a spat with the coach. Clearly I am mainly talking about Magner... annoys me that one

Cant delist Gillies Rodan or Pedersen, not too mention Pedersen is a horrific call for mine. Can play, can mark... his decision making needs work but he is certainly not the only one in the side, he was alright at Norf just chose to leave em.

Okay thats a tad harsh, i'll agree Rodan has been serviceable but is just not part of the future at all. Gillies on the other hand has shown nothing, not even in the VFL.

Pedersen is contracted, so will stay, and is depth, so fair enough.

only reason I want Sylvia to stay coz it would break my heart when he rips apart games at another club... and he would... needs support hes not getting here
