After getting Roden, Bryne, Pedersen.... lets get some more players in the twilight of their careers and play for us. The Dogs. don't want him anymore, they have a young list just like us, granted their midfield is better, but if we draft in a couple of young players....we have key backs and forwards and ours are better than the Dogs.

Cross is a much better player than Byrnes, Rodan and Pedersen, plus he plays a position that we really lack players in, and as you mentioned the dogs have a lot of young midfielders to replace him, a couple of years of Cross in our midfield to allow time for our young guys to step up might not be such a bad thing.

Fair enough, I heard that he apparently "despises" us, unsure why though, enlighten me if you know.

Both him and Cross would be handy at the Dees for 2 years I reckon, gives the younger guys more time to get their footy right.

Chappy has just played in one of the greatest eras of all time, he loves that competitiveness spirit, he wouldn't want to be a gap fill player.

Agree both would be very handy for us though.

I'd keep McKezie - but can't see Jetta holding on (even though I love his effort and courage).

Neeld recruited Clark to become (one of) our main forward(s), same with Dawes.

Didn't see Hogan coming, Fitz stepping up - nor the potential recruitment of Boyd I guess.

I remember Neeld saying he was going to play Watts forward, then using him as a defender all year. I still prefer Watts in a more attacking role myself.

It's bizarre how quickly we went from no forwards to an overload!

Agree on Magner, but I can't think of Jetta ever getting more than 12 touches at AFL level??

But if the Bombers contracts are actually made void, there are a few options we could throw huge cash at.

Zaharakis is the best match that comes to mind - Melksham and Heppell are others.

Obviously unlikely, but if we offered 4 year deals with an extra 100k per year, surely we will make them think?

I can't see either of the two leaving though. Especially Heppell. I believe he was an Essendon supporter before joining the club, so I imagine he'd prefer to stay. At least for now.

I very strongly dislike Mitch Robinson too, but then after watching him play yesterday I found myself thinking he was bloody good when it mattered (apart from that brain fade on the rules). I could almost find myself thinking if we could get him for a 2nd round pick, he might be a good pick up... maybe.
