We grew up in the same area, i'm a few years older but plenty of mutual friends. It was quite ironic when he nailed the winning goal on ANZAC day a few years ago. But i do agree we need to try and target some mids with his ability and his age.

I'm hoping Evans will become our Zaharakis.

Full pre-season with Roos and a new mid coach, could become a very good player. Thought he showed a lot earlier in the year. Physically built for AFL football too, just needs to have an uninjured run.

Here are my thoughts on our list and what to do about it.


Keep (28):
5 Tall backs: Dunn, Frawley, Garland, McDonald, Davis (Dunn and Garland can play small or tall, Davis can also play forward)
4 Small backs: Clisby, Jetta, Strauss, Terlich (Grimes and M.Jones can also play as backs)
4 Tall forwards: Clark, Dawes, Fitzpatrick, Hogan
3 Small/medium forwards: Howe, Kent, Watts (some mids can also play forward)
2 Rucks: Gawn, Spencer (with Fitzpatrick as a back-up and Clark/Dawes to help out in the forward line)
8 Mids: Blease, Grimes, M.Jones, N.Jones, Sylvia, Toumpas, Trengove, Viney
2 First year rookies: Stark, Barry (I think they must get a second year)

Possible keeps (7): Byrnes, Evans, Magner, McKenzie, Pedersen (as depth for talls), Sellar, Taggert

Retiring (3): Davey, MacDonald, Rodan

Delist or trade (7): Couch, Gillies, Tynan, Bail, Jamar, Nicholson, Tapscott

This will free up 10 spots on our list for trades (2 or 3 A-graders please!) plus draft picks and rookies.

Yeah I agree, think Tappy will get another year under Roos...hopefully he can step up next year or he may not be so lucky come this time next year.

Also, pretty sure Barry is on the main list on a 2 year contract. Are you suggesting we demote him to the Rookie list?

When he first got to the club when Hird was appointed coach, he has been dudded by team mates for 'whimpering away' from standing and meeting James Hird such was his idealism of him.

you demon's have had it tough so being a great victorian club i hope roo's and co really bring your club back up near the final 8 so stick with your boys and club and im sure sunnys days will come with barry, hogan playing next year so best of luck.

Jolly was told he was no longer wanted by the Pies... he's not choosing to leave Collingwood. Collingwood supporters are in meltdown after that loss

Personally, I don't see any scenario where he comes to Melbourne.

Hmm, if Roos reckons he's a culture changer I think he'll come - Jamar hasn't performed very well since 2010.

Apparently Gold Coast won't stand in the way of Swallow coming to us if we give up pick #2, they think they'll get Aish - and apparently Clayton thinks it's a smart move to continue to spread their list age considering he rates both players equally.
