BTW its http://draftcountdown.com/ not nfldraftcountdown as posted earlier

Also I just noticed that NFP is mocking Jesse Williams in the first round.

Good on the Aussie

Most places are, or in the early 2nd. He has freakish strength that I'm sure a team looking for a 3-4 NT will love.

San Diego needs to upgrade our NT badly, so (as long as we stay 3-4) id love if we could get him at pick 45 but unfortunately i think he will be gone, and as we have a lot of holes (Tackle, CB, DE) we cant really trade up and give up later round picks.

If he has a big title game could he get into the top 20?

#NFL personnel director last week to me on this year’s group of QB prospects: “If you like slop, this is the draft that will excite you.”

With the QB class being so poor, do people really believe the Chiefs will use the number 1 pick on Geno? Wouldn't they just be better off sticking it out another year and get Manziel? (I think he's eligible next year right?)

Yeah I think Menziel should be eligible if he declares. You have to be 3 years out of high school (or some shit about 3 years) and he redshirt his true freshman year.

Anyways I'm not totally convinced about the whole small qb thing. Brees yes. Vick I guess so. Wilson looking good but in year 1. Not much else.

i think Murray is staying.

Bridgewater from Louisville will be one of the top QBs taken next year. We will get a good look at him against Floridas defense tomorrow in the sugar bowl

watch for him.

I agree that it would be terrible for KC to take Geno with Pick 1 he isnt worth it. Theyd be better of taking the tackle Joekel with pick 1 and moving up from pick 34 to pick 25-27 to draft Barkley.

With a good O line Barkley is the best QB in the draft for me. but his ceiling is no more the Alex smith which is a bit of a sad indictment on the draft

Manziel is Tim Tebow with just a bit better of an arm.

those mobile running qb's translate horrendous at NFL level.

Bridgewater is the QB for 2013.
#1 - Manziel is closer to Rodgers for mobility than Tebow.
#2 - Mobile running QB's = Horrendous? So what, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Luck etc. are horrendous?

And Manziel is nothing like those 2. Those 2 are big body btuisers who can throw.
Manziel can throw and if neccessary, scramble.

Manziel plays alot more like Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Luck, Wilson etc. than Klein, Tebow etc.

All the Manziel talk is moot imo because I doubt he comes out next year. When was the last time that a QB came out after his rSO year? Luck could have (and probably would have been the #1 pick that year too) but I haven't been following the NFL or the draft long enough to know of any that did.

When was the last time a freshman won the heisman?

Agree with you in that he is unlikely to enter the draft next year.

If thats the case then i think that will make taylor Lewan a top 6-8 pick.

Lewan is the other stud Tackle in the draft and with Mathews gone and Joekel a top 4 pick, i think San Diego and Arizona will try to trade up to leap frog each other to get lewan.

With Cleveland not having a 2nd round pick I could see them trading out of the 6 spot with San diego to get picks 11 and 45 from the chargers.

Would allow SD to get Lewan and Cleveland could still get a good pass rusher like Dion Jordan or Bjorn Werner, while getting a 2nd rounder to look for another receiving weapon.

I see your point about him being unique in winning the Heisman as a freshman, but there is no downside to not winnning it (in terms of future NFL success). Enter the draft too early or too late and you can absolutely kill your draft stock and potentially ruin your future NFL career too.

Joekel is better than Matthews.

Manziel's accuracy is underrated because people immediately equate him to Tebow. He is nothing like him. I've watched him play a fair bit, and I especially rate his throwing on the move. The only real slight on him is his size. That said if he were available now he would probably go 1 or 2
