I like Marsh too. He's never going to be a pure KPF but as a 3rd tall pushing up the wings and ducking back I think our team suits him.

Just saw this on the AFL Free Agency Facebook Page.
Tassie ruckman Toby Nankervis was today named the best on ground in Tassie's 69-point win over Queensland today. He had a huge 27 disposals, 11 marks, 19 hit-outs and a goal. Fair game.

Not bad for a bloke over 200cms tall, and tipping the scales at over 100kgs. He too, was overlooked last year in the national draft, but will surely find himself on a list come November.

Could be the answer to our ruck problems?

Wilson/Salem, Garlett (If he pulls his head in), Nakervis. And from a mature age perspective, Cain and O'Hara sound good.

As I have said in utopia I like JR as a floating elite forward.

we may never get to utopia but I think Marsh could play as a 4th-5th tall, half forward or pocket etc.. allowing Dusty to go into the midfield at times

physique wise shouldn't get pushed off the ball anyway, offers flexibility and can play a McGuane/A Edwards role

Actually with jumping Jack more of a jumper lacking a little pace and Marsh having pace and not sure about the leap, they might form a nice batman/robin combination complementing each other in the forward line and with their size a lighter fellow like Garlett could work

In all honesty, I am not impressed by video clips no matter how good they are.

Their physical attributes literally mean nothing unless they have all the extra stuff that can only be measured off-field
(Character, resilience, toughness, Vlastuin-like cool headedness, cognitively sound self-talk)

I mean, if you compare Riewoldt's pre-draft highlights and Clever Hughes', woth no additional info, many would likely say they're on a similar level. But then you have Jade Rawlings giving a big wrap for Jack's personality from a first person perspective, and it means so much more.

I bet if you did a study and showed highlight footage of 100 different eighteen year olds to supporters, there would be little to no correlation with their rating and their future success.

Steve Morris types... As a supporter without extra knowledge, you could probably do a better job of rating their future success by judging their attitude/personality on their twitter accounts as opposed to watching highlights vids!

From memory, he's pretty slow and lumbering and I don't think he's even 200cm.

For Longer? First rounder and change. He would solve our ruck issues for a long time.

If we were to grab him, I would love a second rounder on top of our own to nab some quality kids also. We still need to grab kids as we have too many deficient players still getting a game and being relied on. Won't win a flag until that changes.

The guy who is making himself quite valuable is Jackson. Melbourne would kill for a guy with his leadership and playing as a best 22 midfielder.

That being said if he keeps playing this way i'd want to keep him.
