Are you sure? Isn't tackling one of his weaknesses?
Any news on him? Do you think his work ethic and change in attitude is genuine or do you think its an act?

It probably is a weakness but as I said most kids are like that. Especially the more outside types. He's improving in that area though which is all you can ask.

No news on him but I think the improvement in his defensive side shows that it's pretty genuine. I think he was gutted he missed out because he didn't believe every club would overlook him entirely.

He might have sought help and/or largely sorted himself out, but in my opinion and experience, it will continue to be something that has to be managed through-out his career - there is no "cure" typically. Just looked at some profiles of draft prospects
1st Rounder: Christian Salem is growing on me, we need a Pendlebury type
2nd Rounder/3rd Rounder: Apeness, who has a Boyd type build and plays ruck/forward would be able to allow Vickery to play first ruck more often - provides second and third efforts and doesnt mind a tackle. Only problem is his consistency over four quarters, but with a few pre-seasons he'd be able to build up a good tank.
2nd Rounder/3rd Rounder: Dayle Garlett, only knock on him is his defensive game

I quite like what GC did though I don't know anything of Rokeby. McDonald & Marsh are good fits IMO and Wilson is probably a steal if developed well. And Freeman is a bargain from what I've heard and the limited viewing I've had.

I don't mind what WC did. I think Cripps could become a very good player as could Jansen and I've been thinking about the possibility of us adding Hampson in the draft.

Though all being picked by the same team I think Hawthorn got some bargains.

I actually like all of your picks except I'm not sure Heavyside fits our kicking mantra, then again neither do Tuck, Petterd, Foley and the list goes on.

You've taken 2 guys I have comfortably in my first round calculations (one top 10), Karpany who I've already said to you I think could be the better AFL player of he and Wilson, Jones who is severely underrated. Then Cutler is a bargain and is only still available because he's a bit short and that 3rd tall defender is unfashionable and always slides. If we can fix up Heavyside's kicking even a bit and he's a bargain there too.

Dwayne Wilson
Ben Cavarra
Darcy Cameron

Just wondering how the draft experts here would feel if that was to be how our draft panned out, assuming we weren't able to land Adams.

I'd be pretty happy. Crouch gives us another tough inside midfielder in the mould of Joel Selwood, Wilson gives us a Lewis Jetta/Cyril Rioli type flanker, Cavarra is a good mix of inside an outside, and is similar to Dan Hannebury although he is pretty short (173 cm), and Darcy Cameron is in the same style as Dean Cox and Tyrone.

Would be disappointed if one of Sheed, Freeman or Salem were there, and we took Crouch though.

I don't think it would be a bad thing with both Freeman and Wilson.

Freeman is very much a mix of Pendlebury and Dangerfield. Powerful, but silky smooth, and Wilson is very much that missing link player we need.

I'm not sure i would want him either with who was left on the board in that phantom, Salem and Dunstan.

Nah not really. Not a great kick and think we can do better. Unless he bring his brother with him.

I'd take Salem and Dunstan over him easily. Dunstan will be top 10 soon enough. Smashed SANFL seniors last weekend.
