Lewis Taylor is growing on me. Gun player, could push outKing as the defensive small and be more than handy when he plays midfield. Short as a Hobbit as some may have mentioned.

Like him too. Could easily play through the middle.

We need this sort of player. Shame about his height though.

Anyone from WA no anything about Jonathon Marsh, nice size kid with good skills & great pace from the highlights. Probably do with a few more kilos, yet would be good on a wing or a chop out forward.

Do we have to nominate the rookies we are upgrading prior to the draft?

Was thinking, if it is possible, that if no one we rate above our current best rookies, petterd + Williams/darrou I'd assume, could we simply upgrade 2 rookies on the day? I understand the above article says we will take 3 players, but just wondered if this was a possibility due to the supposed lack of depth int he draft.

Glad to hear we are taking 3 new kids in the draft. I don't care how supposedly shallow this and any draft is. I'm a big believer in taking every opportunity to get new talent in. IMO it makes the Hampson trade stranger (yes I know we need a Ruckman). We trade our 2nd round pick because we believe the draft lacks depth BUT are happy to keep our 3rd & 4th round picks and back our recruiting/development staff. Sorry, time to move on.

Reading the article doesn't give this impression at all imo. Personally I hope we do, but we could just as well use pick 68 for Petterd. It just says we ill use 3 picks, not that we we will take 3 new kids with those picks. We will know for sure next week.

We have 4 list spots so I'd imagine it means 3 actual picks and upgrade Petterd.

Toadvine tigs2010 Tigerbob TFLUA-Tiger
From his highlights he looks quite a good disposer of the football and could actually push onto the wing. Any info as to why he's not being talked about in phantom drafts?

I think you'll find tigs2010 is a little bit of an Aliir fan boy.

To answer your question - he's not being talked about because he's 19 and still raw. He'd need 4-5 pre-seasons to be near making an AFL debut. He was given some really tough tasks when he played KPB for WA this year, but WA leaked goals like no other. As exciting as Aliir is, and as long as his reach is; he has a LOT to learn. Positioning, game smarts, body position - learning to read the play. He needs it all.

You've pretty correctly outlined his upside - he's quick, athletic as all get out, can leap small buildings (QLD played him as a ruck in their 18's team last year), has long limbs and can provide some really good dash.

If he goes, he'll be a speculative, late, rookie pick. But he's improved his stock from last year, where no one could see his spot at the next level. You don't draft 194 cm ruckmen. But at least now he has a position and could be given a shot. Someone might, but there'd only be a few teams interested I'd wager.

Looks to have some good traits - good run, marking option, could be a potential outside line-breaker and link-up player.

I really want to have a chat with Tigerbob about Bourke. I know both him and Snoop Dog are fans, but there's a few knocker. A slightly less explosive Matthew Haynes I think, and I was one of Hayne's big detractors.

Agree with all that. He has potential but you could leave him develop for a couple of years before drafting him.

Thanks for providing more insight into Aliir as i haven't seen any phantoms talking about him or websites talking about his strengths and weaknesses and so on.

Isn't Haynes' biggest asset his pace? So what would Bourke be...?

Less explosive but smarter, more competitive and stronger personality than Haynes.

Just think he has attributes we could work with. Don't get me wrong has a few areas he needs to get right but I think the qualities listed above make him a prospect.

Love his size, versatility and smarts for a later pick.

Based off small sample size he looks more footballer rather than Haynes who was purely an athlete trying to play footy.

So we will be using picks 50 and 68 on kids. FJ is on a hiding to nothing on BF if they don't become AA/premiership players:D

Pretty much. Can see why they'd be trying to upgrade picks with GC.
