If I had to guess I would say it's because he hasn't shows ability to play through the midfield yet. In the Champs and TAC Cup he stayed on a flank. I hope that's enough to make him slide to 12 :thumbsu:
heck.

He would be the steal of the draft if he slid to 12. Touted as a top 3 pick the entire year. Would be a great swing man for the Tiges. Would give us so much flexibility around the ground.

I could see him being wing then floating forward.

Vlastuin had the same sort of year before being drafted, was touted as a midfielder but due to injury spent the year at HB and was available for us. Would be great if the same thing happened again this year.

That and he got injured too. I think he will be there now. Probably with Lennon.

Gold Coast supporters think they should take him at 5, or do u think their recruiters have all eyes on KK?

Yeah they will take KK. Their supporters can love him all they want in a different jumper next year. :D

Awesome. Hopefully he lines up against them in round 1 in a tigers jumper.

On talent pretty high but won't be in my rankings as I'm sure he won't be drafted again. You can definitely count us out. Not touching him. And that's through a big amount of homework on our behalf, not a lack of.

Take the puff-pieces this year about him with a grain of salt.

Those puff-pieces suddenly got pretty serious over the past few days. Talk of Hawthorn, North and Carlton all considering him in the top 30.

Whoever takes him, will make every other club lok quite silly in the long run.

All I'm saying is Richmond did significant homework on him as have a lot of other clubs.

Dont doubt that mate - not questioning you, l have no cred when it comes to draftees, just go on what l like to hear from better positioned posters.

However, this kid has huge footballing ability from the footage l've seen. Massive and is exactly what our side needs. The fact three clubs have softened their stance considerably over the past week - to an extent that he's droppoed into top-24 calculations - maybe we could at least take a punt were he to be there at 50.

Might be a moot point, but l'll be gutted if he's still there at 50 and we pass on him.

Not to do with the main draft but for the rookie draft I hope that with our four picks we have the chance to pick up:

1. Mellington
2. Taggert
3. Cain/Forster
4. Nelson

Though with the main draft lacking depth I imagine that the players mentioned above might not make it through to the rookie draft whereas in previous years they might have, Mellington especially. Also if we did manage to pick up those players there would be lots of competition for HFF position, which I don't mind cause other than McDonough I don't think the other flankers like O'Hanlon will make the grade and I see Mellington especially as an upgrade on him, then theres Knights who if he has another injury interrupted season will most likely be cut (depending on contract situation).

Lastly I hope that come round one next year the likes of King, Newman and Edwards are having to perform out of their skin to get a game cause if we do pick up Mellington he will be knocking on the door if he isn't already in the side.

Taggert is no where near an AFL player and never will be, would be a waste of a rookie spot.

I like to take this sort of reporting with a huge grain of salt Wally Matera, as its a fairly quiet time of the year (apart from St's stuff). By quiet I'm not putting it beyond the meeja to not let the truth get in the way of a good story nor am I putting it beyond clubs to use a little distraction and misdirection when it comes to drafting. That's not to say say that I'm dismissing your posts either. I guess this is the time when you back the club, their resources and the people they have to make the right call . Oh yeh and without being superstitious cross your fingers & any other body part ya can and finish off by doing a little dance for luck….;)

If you're not checking it out already - the BF Official Mock Draft is up and going and the debate/discussion is better than ever.

Great read for those who want to soak up a variety of perspectives on the draft.

Anyone know/heard much about Matt Fuller from SA apart from the article on AFL.com, in regards to drafting ? TFLUA-Tiger , tigs2010 ,@MR ……Cheers in advance
