Does anyone reckon that Blake Arces could slide down the draft to pick 26 because of his shoulder concerns or is that just wishful thinking?

Wishful thinking and besides we'd need him to get to pick 31ish with Hawthorn, Collingwood and Melbourne having compo picks.

Melbourne combo pick for Sylvia most likely will be after our second pick but yeah with collingwood and hawks combo picks, its probably wishful thinking

Be after their 2nd pick most likely. Which will be before ours. He'd be getting roughly what Port got for Chappy and Pearce.

Blair doesn't do the drafting...

Should we miss on Adams(most believe we will now) then hold the first round pick and take the best kid available at 12. We should get a damn good kid at that pick that will add to the quality of the list.

FWIW in no particular order I'd be happy with one of:
Christian Salem
Nathan Freeman
Marcus Bontempelli
Luke Dunstan
Trent Dumont
Billy Hartung

Seems harsh to pin it all on Blair then, not that the safe bets haven't been fantastic (I would be wrapt if we picked Freeman anyway)

They'd say best available for first pick based on being able to kick, win own ball and have good leadership.

What they wouldn't say is take the safest player possible.

Reece Conca, Brandon Ellis, Nick Vlastuin it's like a thing of beauty. I have now complete faith in the process taken. Our first pick must have certain qualities, looking at the draft, we wil be taking Salem if he's there.

I just wish this logic was taken by the team in second rounders. I'm still perplexed by not taking Luke Parker when we has the chance.

We've built the tank now we just need some artillery, an absolute x-factor to go with Dustin.

I still don't think we can't get our first pick wrong.

I had the same line of thinking last year but seeing what Vlastuin brings to our team was an eye opener.

Let's not forget, Conca, Ellis and Vlastuin have the ability to be elite. All have certain qualities you could describe as X factor. Vlastuin in my opinion was in our top 3 in a final. That says something.

I like the sound of Salem. Based on the comments everyone's been making about how physical his game is in regards to tenacity and tackling, I reckon we're a good chance to go with him. Fits dimma's ideal type of player.
