Having a read of Tim Clarke's assessment of Ben Darrou I wouldn't be surprised if he was upgraded this year. Would have to be one of the most glowing assessments of a young player we have had in a long time.
BTW, I love Tim Clarke's brutal honesty. He is very much like this listening to him at 1/4 time and 3/4 time at VFL level. Doesn't muck around, calls a spade a spade, but extremely supportive /encouraging at the same time.

Looks like his mum was short. If he was his dad's size he would be awesome.

Darrou is very much like josh Gibson can play a variety of defensive rolls .

Can probably do either. He's so strong he can play on bigger guys. He'll be right.

I had a look at Eli Templeton's highlights video today and I can see why Tigerbob rates him so highly clean and smart with some toughness , reminds me a bit of rory Sloane but with better disposal . we need to somehow get a pick in the early 20's, for if we can get Eli and Acres at 12 our mids would be set for the next 6 to 8 years !!!!

No no just stay as a rookie. I know some want him upgraded but imo he can try to prove himself again this year as a rookie who will be upgraded anyway. In this way we have a spot for another player and get relief within the tpp. I like some of his play but not others so im a bit so so on him.

no because 12 to 20 is too big of a loss. We would be worse off!!

The scope this bloke has is enormous. Rory Sloane is a decent comparison he's probably a cross between him & Daisy Thomas & Dayne Beams. So clean with the football.

With a bit of development body wise could be anything.

He's about 75kg already. Another 5-7kg and he's ready.

Less explosive but smarter, more competitive and stronger personality than Haynes.

Just think he has attributes we could work with. Don't get me wrong has a few areas he needs to get right but I think the qualities listed above make him a prospect.

Love his size, versatility and smarts for a later pick.

I just wonder where he plays at the next level. He's incredibly outside and still didn't star this year, even with Taylor, Tsitas, Adams and Cameron feeding him. I've got a litany of concerns. He's not for me.

Rookie selection at best I think. He's definitely got some upside though.

Does any body know where Nick Holman may go in this years draft ? I was watching some highlight videos of other players and this blond mid kept being in the passages of play and he really took my eye so I watched his own highlight package and liked what I saw , so any info would be appreciated. cheers

Melbourne took Bernie Vince ffs. I'm pretty sure Foley, Vickery, Griffiths, Astbury, S.Edwards, Grigg, Dea, Elton all had currency and could have been packaged in a variety of ways to facilitate good trades for Adams, Tyson and Longer. Even Delidio should almost be tradeable. He's regular tagged out of games and had a mediocre year for a supposed top player.

That's the list managers job - to get creative and work the trades. We've sat on our hands when all we got is a mediocre list. Wouldn't be surprised if Norf, Pies, Carlton and Ess fly by us next year.

I'm sure gws would have taken Foley & Astbury for Tyson. We missed the boat by being lazy and once again over rating our players and list.​

I would have had foley on the to trade list with griffo and astbury and I tell yo what I would have had grigg there as well. all could have in some shape or form have gotten us upgrades in draft order.
