With KK looking like to end up at GC I wonder if we're looking at his brother as a carrot to dangle in front of him in a few years time

Acres worries me, not in terms of his playing style, but his homesickness risk. I read somewhere that even though he played for West Perth, he's a country lad so the move might be tough? Or am I wrong on this.

The thing with country players is where are they going to go home to?

I think you might have Acres mixed up with someone else as he born in Perth and played his all his football in the city.

Kamdyn McIntosh is from Pinjarra. Which is about the same distance out of Perth so don't think homesickness really an issue like you've said.

Can you give us any insight Kawalsky? Have you watched him play much? Do you think he's a good fit for our side?

Most country kids struggle less with the moving then city kids. Because they have to move anyway, once they get into a city (even Adelaide) they realise how much more fun they are then the country (apart from shooting rabbits but you can do that in the offseason) and they spend so much time travelling for football already that they far more prepared for the move.

Hey Tigs,
I was having a read of last years draft preview and noticed that yourself and MR compiled a top 60 draft prospects which in turned out to be quite accurate. Will you be doing the same again this year?

As a rustic myself, I take offence! ;)

Haha I meant no team to go to. :D

I'll do my best. Probably won't be 60 of them purely because I don't rate that many.

Yeah he's not even a country boy, just me talking out of my arse. Thing is, he might want to return to one of the WA clubs, but Conca has stayed and he seems like an actual legit prospect rather than some scrub like JON.

Ok I've updated my list for now. I still reserve the right to adjust it over the next 4 weeks. It certainly goes against the consensus and I really struggled to eek out 43 names. Lol.

I'll leave a gap where there is a considerable drop off IMO and group similar level players.

1. Tom Boyd
(Boyd is a cut above the rest)

2. James Aish
(Aish isn't at Boyd's level but is ahead of the next batch)

3. Dom Sheed
4. Luke McDonald
5. Christian Salem
6. Luke Dunstan
7. Matt Scharenberg
8. Blake Acres
9. Ben Lennon
10. Nathan Freeman
11. Josh Kelly
(Very even group and we should be happy with any being at pick 12)

12. Kade Kolodjashnij
13. Jack Billings
(Talented but don't see as top 10 picks)

14. Cam McCarthy
15. Jarman Impey
16. Eli Templeton
(Little batch of personal favorites that we can do better at pick 12 but I would be disappointed if they were available at pick 32. I.e. Hampson fits in between Templeton and Hourigan for me)

17. Darcy Hourigan
18. Dwayne Wilson
19. Daniel McStay
20. Zac Jones
21. Darcy Cameron
(Starting to struggle by this stage to get really good players)

22. Cameron Conlon
23. Matt Crouch
(Conlon would be higher if not for injury and Crouch I'm not a big fan of his kicking but he can rack the ball up, just not for me)

24. Nick Bourke
25. Malcolm Karpany
26. Lewis Taylor
27. James Battersby
28. Trent Dumont
(Very even group for mine. Some are ready to go and the top 2 are more based on upside.)

29. Rory Lobb
30. Charlie Cameron
31. Richard Bourne
32. Marcus Bontempelli
33. Ben Sokol
34. George Hewett
(Next group is project time - All have tools to work with but also big holes. All could be very, very high level players or busts.)

PRETTY MUCH DONE HERE BUT A FEW OTHERS I DON'T MIND...

35. Darcy Gardiner
36. Patrick Cripps
37. Jono Marsh
38. James Tsitas
(Guys who are all predicted higher but I expect to slide because I'm not all that high on. All worth a look with a late pick though won't be there)

39. Jake Kolodjashnij
40. Nicholas Robertson
41. Alex Spina
42. Alex Saunders
43. Nathan Gordon
(All worth a crack late draft)

Hey tigs2010 , any chance we could go for KK & JK. I'm just a bit sentimental re the Gale bro's ?

interesting you rate Taylor and Bontempelli so low. Is it the size with taylor?

I agree with you're rankings of Billings and Kolodjashnij, very happy they'll be top 5 picks as someone in that third bunch will be there at 12. Not sure why anyone would take KK ahead of Scharenberg if you want a HBF/utility.

Yeah, Taylor is bloody tiny. Every year there's always a dwarf and Prestia has probably been the only one to really come off as an early pick. Just doesn't excite me. I took Bonts in the Phantom Draft because I thought he had some interesting athletic attributes but turns out he isn't that quick and he has a lot of developing to do. I said at the time I'd take him for GC but not other teams.

I'm not as big on Scharenberg as others yet I'd still take him ahead of KK. And Billings needed to show more in the midfield this year to be top 5 for mine. Doing these rankings again shows me just how shitty this draft is. Absolute trash. Lol.

I'd hope JK gets a look in at 50 or 68. (Should push up into late 50's to 60 with teams bailing out before then.)

Looks like with pick 50 we have a choice of stuff all and pick 68 next to nothing:(

Nah, a lot of those guys are late-rookie prospects. I just don't rate everyone who will go main draft. Pick 50 there should be some late teens- early 20's guys. Pick 68 maybe guys in the mid 20's-mid 30's.

Then even some of those early 30's blokes are rookie prospects.
