Checking through other teams boards, seems like everyone is happy overall with their drafting.
Port almost had a meltdown after their 1st pick but came alright

Essendon were stoked but I still lol'd at Fantasia
Geelong unsure about Lang but confident in Well's ability
Sydney not that happy
Freo dirty on GWS (Giants are making friends fast )

Personally I think that Pies, Saints and Lions are big winners. Time will tell though

I rate Port's first pick. Don't like the 2nd.

Sydney nailed the first 2. Hewett will be a jet. Jones a real Sydney type hard nut.

Essendon would be happy with anything.

Yeah there has been mail on his work rate and you can see it in the way he plays, he goes missing massively. It's his biggest knock. He's also short and skinny. Agree with you on the fact we take those types, just have to look at the types we take over the years. The only guys that tend to be skinny over last 4 drafts now were KPP like Elton and McBean. All the others are solid types. Also, don't think we've taken a sub-180cm player.

Martin didn't have work ethic issues at TAC level, nor does he have them at AFL level. He was very consistent this year. He doesn't have a big tank but that's more lifestyle than tank. Having our time again I'm not sure we would take Dusty tbh.

Fair enough, also just noticed Quigley mentioned something about work rate, but also said there was a good chance that could be rectified in the professional afl environment.

The terms 'work rate' and 'work ethic' can be confused IMO. The first (to me) means effort during a game, while the second means effort, attitude and professionalism in life, training etc as well as in a game (my interpretation, others might be different). I make the distinction because casual references to work ethic can be interpreted that he has attitude problems (ah la Garlett) and is potentially trouble for a club.

So I take it the knocks are related more around Wilsons in-game efforts, and not his attitude to life and football in general? If so, maybe work on his endurance at afl level could rectify his inconsistent efforts during games?

Fair enough. I'd go with second for Wilson. Which obviously leads to the first.

That clears it up a bit for me. If so, then I can understand if the club has crossed his name off the list. Hope he gets a chance and can make the most of it.

Likewise. My understanding is he recognises it's an issue and he needs to improve. That's 90% of the problem with those type of guys. Realising they need to work harder.

It's the rookie draft though, in a shallow draft, and Richmond needs small forwards. I'm willing to trust in the staff's capacity to encourage Wilson to develop a better work ethic. I didn't think he was amazingly lazy this year, sometimes small forwards can seem lazy when they're not. I mean he might turn out to be a poor man's Yarran in some respects, but for a rookie pick, I can handle it (at least it's not a top ten pick amirite?)

Definitely have to delist Lennon

On the 8th of September. What games is he talking about again?

Lennon's tweet was at 3:58 pm - game started at 3:20pm - so that tweet is just around Newmans goal where we were 20pts up and looking strong early in the second.

Both he and Boyd are backing the Tigers going by that.

Nice selective quoting to try and make it look bad - it seems to me the boy might be a Tiger through and through and I'm happy with that.

It clearly says 5:58 PM...

HA - the bloody time stamp is live and shows me WA time - I thought it was screen capture pic - so I will stand corrected - we need to work out how to ensure there's none of that virus left in his system !!!!

Does it really matter? Vlastuin used to follow Collingwood, he's now committed to Richmond.
Not really - but as I thought it was showing otherwise till I found out about the time stamp issue I thought I'd do the righty by him - now withdrawn :D

Guys he clearly wanted Blues to win as we would have got pick 14-16 instead of 12 and any chance he had of getting to tigerland would be gone. I know its a bit selfish but Ben knows he can turn Richmond into a premiership threat ;)

Imo I think we are in need of a rookie KPD (195cm+)more than a small fwd. We use our mids as these and have added Mcdonough and now Lloyd to the ranks.

I wonder who was next after Zak Jones on the order of preference. MR tigs2010 anyone else know?

Just guessing but I imagine Dunstan and Acres would have entered the conversation at that point. We would have been very confident of Jones being available if it came to that though

It seems like FJ rated the top 15 or so like it went down. Everyone was talking about how this draft was so unpredictable, but it did seem that most agreed on who the top 15 or so were.

I would imagine whoever slipped if Salem, Lennon and Jones were picked before us we would have picked. Doubt the likes of Acres and Dunstan really came into play as we prob knew we were greeting a slider if we missed those 3.

I find it interesting that FJ said it nearly all went to plan. Can only imagine Lennon was part of the plan so who out of the other two wasn't the first choice.

With the little footage I have seen Lloyd looks more like a rookie type to me. Love for him to prove me wrong but looks a fair way off.

FJ really didn't rate the kids to go for two 23 year olds in the Nat draft.

He might have been referring to Salem as our first choice however very happy with Lennon.

Our picks are really interesting, the kinda picks you can only take having done some research, it will be interesting to see the impact they have.

Dunno. Doubt it was really discussed. Zak Jones was always going to be there.

Happy with our picks all fill a need ,only disappointment is being a Nick Holman fan is he was there at 50 and we did not take him, but then again it is an opinion based game recruiting , so I wish all our new players the best . And Nick Holman to !!!

I hate Nick Holman. Plays for those Scumbags at Pricefixer Park.

Agree, our forward line has clearly been our weakness for awhile now. There hasn't been any pressure for spots. We have 5 new forwards in the last 2 years. 3 of which can play midfield as well.

who are the five- you have big griff there?
