Did even 8 players avg more than that in 2012?
Nup. Just Boyd, Swan, Beams and Ablett. Only 21 players (and one was Brock McLean!) averaged 100+ last year, so I think that is a better keeper mark at this stage.
It shows how good Swan is since he averaged 20 more than every other player in the comp bar 3. Not sure he'll back that up though. He'll still be excellent but it would surprise if he maintained a 133 average.

i think the game has changed where mids will rack up even more points this yr, GAJ, Swan, Pendles, Boyd, Selwood, Watson, Cotchin,Kennedy & Jack (from swans), Sam Mitchell , Marc Murphy & Dayne Beams could all average 115 if they stay injury free

Agree with this. If you end up having your last couple of mids (out of 8 now) averaging 100-105+ you'll be doing quite well.

With the afl trying to make the game quicker to slow players down, the gap between the top 5% and the rest will grow, as the rest get more tired the elite will continue to excel, point distribution will reflect this IMHO

imo its more the sub rule that has caused an increase in scoring, just means less rotations so that gun players are on the ground for longer (i.e. rest forward). would like to know t.o.g. stats for some of this
105 avg for a m8 would be fine. especially if you get them cheap
100, even 95 for an m8 isn't too bad in finals, provided you've got the rest of the ground bolstered. heck i had hayes and ebert both in until season's end, but not to worry when you have upgraded to seven premium defenders.
I'm starting to look at P.O.D. players in the opening few weeks of the season given the new trade rules.

Is JPK a bully like that though, i think he benefits from a lot of tight ball, a lot of tackles, a lot of quick kicks, would he necessarily flourish against the lower sides??
No he's not I wouldn't think. I'd look at someone like Rockliff. Best five 2012 scores came against the Bulldogs, GWS, Geelong, Melbourne and Gold Coast. Dogs, GC and the Dees in first 5 rounds

None for me, but Bock might be the pick of the bunch. Yarran is also worth a thought
I have doubts that Bock will be ready for rd 1. If he is he'll probably start out quite slow. I have Atley and Howard on my watch list from the mid priced backs. The Nth board and a few other DT sites have been talking up Atley, with alot of the best 22 teams having him off half back, and some even on the the wing. If he shows any sign of breaking out in the pre season games i'm sure we'll hear about it.

Flip a coin to be honest :\ Matt De Boer is sort of the rough as guts midfielder who likes to tackle and work inside. While Matty Wright is also good inside and can lay the tackesl, from what ive seen id be more confident in Wrights ball winnning ability thus netting more points.

Wright for me, an integral part of Crows mid rotations vs DeBoer who could still play that defensive forward post too often and can be a bit inconsistent. Martin if you don't have him is a viable alternative.
