Billings is a pretty average footballer at this stage IMO, can do some flashy type stuff, but is poor in many other important aspects, we keep hearing that he is going to move into the midfield, but I've seen very little to suggest he could be a gun midfielder, from what I've seen he is much more suited to playing as a half forward flanker.
For a player who is considered his clubs best young talent and gets so much hype I'm just not seeing it.

The 30 possession 5 goal game against Carlton is hardly ranking above a similar performance in the VFL.

In fact Port Melbourne and Williamstown probably have more hard at it seasoned bodies than a few AFL sides.
They don't much talent but they do bring effort.

Talking up Billings on 30 possessions and 5 goals against Carlton is not enough to justify ranking him with the better players from the draft.

Saints been rebuilding since 2012 IIRC and this is the best kid they have ?
IMO the Saints have kind of stuffed up there recruiting, with the selections they've had access to they could have both Bontempelli and Petracca.

17 goals 26 behinds, for the year is definitely not what I'd call elite.

The above stats on Billings are pretty damning. Also just 40 goal assists in his 60 games. For a player who spends 80% time up forward that is pretty poor. A classic junior star who has been found lacking against men.

Probably not top ten but Lewy Taylor and Dan McStay are looking likely long term players at the Lions. Lewy not running in circles anymore and becoming a very capable attacking player. Looks to be very durable also and could well be a 300 gamer. Dan settling into defence now and looking much more comfortable.
Really is something this draft!

Taylor has improved out of sight this year. Top 20 with a bullet.
