But does it matter? So if Longer pumps out 100+ this week, you won't consider him because of his age?

Don't look for my approval, CrozaN, if you think the young lad is up to playing with the big boys by all means lock him in! :thumbsu:

Why worry about Longer?

1. Start Cox or some other R/F in the rucks. Pick someone like Varcoe, Knights, Karnezis or Byrnes in the forward line.
2. When Leuenberger hits form, swap Cox into the forwards and trade out the worst performing forward midpricer to Leuenberger.
3. ???
4. Profit

Also, would it be totally crazy to consider Tom Bellchambers? I could see him pushing 90 ppg this year.

TBC is priced rather nicely IMHO. Would think he is in his prime right now and a 90+ average is not beyond him this year. :thumbsu:

Anyone else think Currie can average just as much, if not more than Longer?

Absolutly if hes the sole north melbourne ruck, played every week, than YES.

The problem isnt what he can score when he plays but its whether Goldy is playing in the same side or whether Currie plays at all.

I just dont see the point of Roughead just for one round, yeh he might score well against geelong but your picking him for that security for round 1 which i dont thinks required. We will know the North melbourne 22 and 3 emergencies on saturday i would think (As they play sunday). So we will know if its just Currie, just goldy or both.

The way im doing it is im gonna just rely on 1 of these guys to play each week (2 rookie rucks, 2 rookie forwards + Currie) and move Cox to where it suits me best.

IMO im very confident with the 5 rookies ive picked that at least one will play each week if not far more. If Currie guns it he becomes my 2nd ruck obviously and my spud forward rookie gets pushed to the bench with Cox there.

I like TBC as an option, but the Bombers have Ryder and Hille still on their list. Last year I wasn't convinced they knew their best combination - I'd rather select Minson or Jacobs for similar money, even though they may not have the upside - as they are clearly the #1 bigman at their clubs.

They do have solid scoring history behind them, but not a huge gap from what TBC produced last year.

Agreed. I think if TBC is #1 ruck all year, he may go past both of them. But at this stage, I'd prefer to pick rucks that I know are going to be in the best 22 every week of the year (barring Minson's annual brain fade/sledging incident.....)

Out of those 3 guys, I definitely like Minson's early draw. Can see him averaging 100+ after Rd2 ...after that, who knows with him

Every Bombers supporter I've seen seems to think that Bellchambers will be #1 ruck all year. I tend to agree with them. Ryder can be used in other parts of the ground and Bellchambers has well and truly overtaken Hille.

TBC is locked away as our number one ruck, 99% of supporters see it this way. 100% of coaches at essendon do.

He was actually my unique pick that i was trying to hide when everyone was jumping on Goldy and Leuy. I thought id go TBC and Leuy. Things changed since than and im not really sure why i have jumped off TBC, mediocre NAB cup maybe.

Dont get me wrong Ryder will spend plenty of time as a ruck, him and TBC are very capable going forward and bring different characteristics in that area.

If only Blicavs was a Ruck and not a mid. 118 DT points vs Collingwood today. Would have been a tasty option.

I still can't get my head around how a 198cm 98kg guy can be listed as a Mid only. Especially since he has only played 4 VFL games last year and only Under13's before that.

Has the headache finally gone away?

I went to put Blicavs in my team and to my amazement the 200cm ruckman is a midfielder and not a ruck (okat Virtualsports). This was a few days ago. I thought they had completly forgot him or something when he wasnt in the rucks.
