Position 2013 Rucks

This will be the stock standard ruck line up this year.

Blics will have to have a blinder of the 1st couple rounds to make Scott think twice before dropping him. But there seems to be too much ruck experience that he will make way when the experienced rucks are fit.

Perhaps they will allow the rucks an extra week or two rather than rush them back and we'll get a couple more weeks than "normal" out of Blics.

I read in an interview somewhere...the the other day where Scott said something along the lines of "we'll find a spot for Blicavs somewhere else on the ground" when their starting rucks come back. The guys an elite athlete, should be able to play pretty much anywhere....just hope it's not the ressies, he could end up being a pretty decent cash cow and hand bench cover in 2 positions

That's very reassuring to hear, makes me now feel much better about his job security.

Rowe/Currie with Cox forwards looked so good. Now Blivacs puts a spanner in the works ... aaahh. This feels like the defining part of the ground for coaches, again.

Leuy likely to return round 1....tempted to put him back in.

Yeh but he only played a half and whether hes going to score well straight up or not has to be questioned

Ill hopefully get inside word whether hes gonna play before the carlton vs tiger game so it can settle other positions. I dont think i really need to know before the ess vs adel or Wce vs freo games but ill still ask.

I mean do people even reconsider Goldy now, i am. He scored 59 from less than half a game against Hale (no slouch) and Scott said "he played his best quarter for 2-3 years" which is saying something.

Is durability a worry?

If it wasn't for the 44 trades rule I'd go with a safer option, but for now I have Goldy in my side. We all know why he's obviously a risk, but we also all know that the reward is huge if he regains something approaching his best form. If he fires, awesome. If he flops, I'll trade him out quickly and no harm done.

i'm going the cox / maric combo - reckon these to will be at least serviceable in week 1... while the burger gets his freak on and shows us what he's capable of... i'll switch cox into the forwards and burn my forward place keeper for the burger if he goes bang better than my place keeper... currie and blicavs at r3 and 4 at the moment...

Similar things going on in my side.

I am going Jamar ruck 2 and then downgrade to Leuy if he looks good. I prefer someone with experience like Jamar, over Smith or one of the port rucks. It SHOULD only be a two or three week punt depending on Luey, but with the amount of trades available I think he is worth the risk.

Cox/ Roughy/ Currie/ Daw

Have Rowe in my fwds, so if a rookie is blitzing it, i can put Cox or Roughy up forward and bench a fwd rookie.
Same goes if they are spudding it up, i leave my fwd rookie on ground

Same as my current ruck set up, except Blicavs @ R4 instead of Daw

I am very surprised with the lack of love for Kruezar, all indications in NAB is he will play as the #1 ruck and spend less time forward which should see him avg 95-110, scored 100 in NAB gf..

I am going in with Kruezar, Blicavs, Rowe & Currie.

Yes Kruz has the potential, but he every pre season he is hyped and never delivers. I need to see it to believe it in the H&A season before I'd consider him.

West due back in Rnd 2, hoping to be Rnd 1 - but unlikely. Be interesting to see how this impacts on Blicavs....
If Blicavs plays round 1, he's done his job for me. I couldn't care less if he goes out of the team in round 2 and never comes back in (which I doubt). He's just a cheap R2 option who should score decently and allow me to have a look at which rookies around the ground are performing. After that, one of my ruck DPs takes his place should he not perform and I bring in a rookie elsewhere.
