Looks like Coomera will be playing Beenleigh 1st week of finals and Logan playing Pine Rivers the next week.

Could a lower placed team host the game if they had applied to AFLQ to host a finals game? ie Beenleigh host Coomera

Finals have been compressed to 3 weeks. So the extra week off is gone.

Ipswich and UQ to stack their 2s, their 1s both losing.
Logan in a close one with GM
Calamvale back to earth with a thumping from Pine Rivers.
The Eagles will not be stacking the twos the recent poor form has been because of injuries and unavailabilty of 5 key players. This week some of those players will be back and by the following week all back so w will see improved output and competitiveness

Technically yes - If Coomera is unable to host the final then Beenleigh could apply to host. However I think it will be played a nuetral venue. Hopefully not somewhere ridiculous. Hopefully somewhere like SPringwood.

yeah I think the first week of the finals its almost a given the highest ranked team would apply for the final - if not would think they would approach another club to co host - cant see any club wanting to play it at the lower ranked teams home ground.

Good to see Finals compressed to 3 weeks - is that a result of the missed round now being played or does the gf come forward a week?

Coomeras facility's are still being upgraded and unlikely be finished by finals so won't meet afl requirements. Mainly just the canteen. We are looking into options but can't see it happening which is disappointing for us.

Yeah it is always disappionting especially for the players when you work so hard to earn a home final but you can't play it. Will be interesting to see who puts there hand up as I know a lot of clubs struggle to make back the money that they have to out lay in stock and the fee to the leauge. You are happy to break even I think if it is for ahome final but not to have two other clubs play at your ground.

I look forward to seeing if we can geet over the line against your boys in a couple weeks. If we beat GM this week then you woudl say that would sow up top two for us.

shame to hear that Gaz

I guess the other point that div 3 face with having finals earlier than other comps is that most clubs are still playing roster games so its not like there are a lot of other grounds either a) physically available or b) with the volunteers able to host it.

surely the boys at Carrarra would be willing to help out - localish, and from the ladder wouldnt suggest they will have either team playing.

Given Coomera's run of bad luck with re-scheduling games etc, I wouldn't be surprised to see the game played in Byron.

In all seriousness, lets just play at Dauth Park, best surface in the comp anyway.

Very disappointing that our ground/facilities are up to standard for regular season but not for finals. Would be good to be rewarded. Anyway, nothing can be done if that's the rules.

I do enjoy the Beenleigh ground but being trapped in that cage to drink a beer is no fun!

Sadly some people need to be caged when they drink
But the cattle prods are a tad unnecessary!

Does that mean we get the home rooms? I feel a top decker or 2 coming on!

I'm sure Beenleigh being such a generous and gracious club that they are would be more than happy to offer the home rooms to Coomera

If Pine Rivers finish 3rd and get a home final against Logan, and Pine Rivers 2s finish first, and play Coomera, would they play at where ever Coomera 1s are playing or at Pine Rivers?

This has often been a hot topic over the years and generally it means the reserves end up playing away from their seniors unless an agreement is reached I believe. Really sux splitting a clubs 2 teams but it happens.

I believe I received an email that stated "prepare your players that your club may have games at 2 different venues" for this case.

I believe if the 1st or 3rd placed Reserves team can play at the same venue as their seniors they should be able to especially if it is a neutral venue anyway.

Although what I think means very little!

At least this year with a final 4 there is only the first weekend where there are 2 games on same day for both grades.

Didn't someone get a later start to a game last year to allow the 2's/volunteers to attend after there game at a different ground??

I think that was a few years ago I know Robina did 1 & 3 when there twos were playing at Beenleigh one year.

My understanding is

1v2 - boths grades play this game at same venue
3v4 - both grades play this game at same venue.

Therefore if Coomera 2's for instance finish third they will travel to Pine Rivers if that is how the 1's panned out.

But do agree that if everyone concerned agrees that Coomera should have both grades at home. Alas our views are not regularly listened to and or cared about. The league has there processes and rules
