One round before Finals.

I don't expect any real big surprises in the 1's

Beenleigh should account for Calamvale
Pine Rivers should get the choccies in Carrara
Coomera should have no issues at home to Ipswich
And Logan should get over the line rather easily against the Red Lions

In the 2s however

Beenleigh to finish off their year with a win
Pine Rivers should do the job then we will sweat on if Ippy wins or not
Coomera and Ipswich will be a close one - Ippy needs to win to secure second spot.
UQ and Logan should fight out a fairly competitive match but the result will not matter

This is just my opinion but should be a fairly limp start to the pointy end of the year before finals begin.

Bring on August!!!!!

Very big game. The Calamvale and UQ draws are a factor too unfortunately. We are effectively 4 points less than we could be. Ah well, the game is there to be won.

Good in theory but I do recall us being told last year in no uncertain terms if our seniors finished 5th (Ressies had finished 2nd), that the games would be split. This has also been said numerous times this year. In a worst case scenario for us though (if our ressies finished 3rd) it would allow us to swap and have Pine Rivers and Coomera teams at the same ground. In saying that I hope we don't need to worry about that! All comes down to this weekends game! Also, for those wanting my opinion I do NOT think that Ipswich would stack. I doubt any team would in that situation. Not a great message to send your side leading into finals. They beat the top team last week and think they will back themselves again as they should!

Think AFLQ are trying to shut the page down, he posted something about it a few weeks back.

I think its a great idea for the league as I think we'd get more input from facebook than this prehistoric form of media we call Bigfooty. Agree with what your saying though.

Prelim- 17/8 - Zillmere
Grand Final- 24/8 - Wynnum

The first week is awaiting confirmation.

As for the ressies result we played our best football of the year yesterday - simple as that.
It was a good day of footy at Tansey Park - thanks to the cobbies for their hospitality.

Great Ressies game v Ipswich yesterday. Was very much deserving of a 1 v 2 clash. Inaccuracy for both sides was probably a result of the pressure of the game (physical and mental).

Anyway nice thing is that whilst we get done by significant margins in seniors most weeks the guys we play are all good sports. Makes it not such a bad day out even when you are getiing belted!!

How good is next weekend swoopa?
We played Ippy in the GF last year and came from 15 points down at 3/4 time to get there by the smallest of whiskers. It is only now as you sit here and think about it that the very fine line between winning and losing on that stage becomes very real.
We played them first up this year when they were still getting a new team together and we got up easily. When we played them second time round it went down to the wire. As with you on Saturday I think we were lucky - it could have gone either way.
We have a great relationship with the Ippy boys so yep - we are up for it Saturday!!
Only thing I am looking forward to more than Saturday is seeing the Coomera boys at Wynnum on 24 August. Good luck to you and your boys on Saturday mate.

This year the 2's are very close any one of them could win the GF. It's going to come down to who plays best and takes their opportunities on the day.
The 1's look a bit more open with Coomera just ahead of Beenleigh and Pine Rivers, but you can't forget Logan who know how to win finals.
All in all it should be a very close and hard fought finals, with the eventual premiers having to earn the title.

We haven't seen you boys since Rd 3 so I don't dare make a call on who will take it out. Ipswich are a great side too and we have had our close battles recently so it will be interesting to see who is celebrating Mad Monday next week!

Why would they be playing seniors? Wouldn't they top up the reserves? After all the reserves are "In Reserve" to top up the seniors.......

So the roosters and lepords are the only teams havin mad mondy today in this div ? ippy and uq seniors get to watch there better players in finals but which is nice for them. how do the eagles have 2 blokes kickin bags in ressies yet not gettin a run in best 22? one of em is winnin the legue goal kickin isnt he by a mile.

Logan have been in great form the latter half of the year, but if the final is at Pine Rivers, I think the Swans pip them at home.

Coomera should easily dispatch Beenleigh.

Ressies, Ipswich should get the win over UQ. Pine Rivers over Coomera at a neutral ground.
