B: Fletcher Pears Hardingham
HB: Heppell Carlisle Hibberd
C: Dempsey Caddy Zaharakis
HF: Winderlich Hurley Reimers
F: Crameri Gumbleton Davey
R: Ryder Watson Stanton
INT: T-Bell Howlett Hocking Myers Daniher
SUB: Melksham

EMG: Browne Baguley Kavanah

Yes I have an extended bench but it's harder to chose than it looks however this is the team I'd love to see in 2013. (Bearing in mind all players are in form).

Solid team, trade out Hooker, Jetta, Davey, Monfries?

It's quite hard putting a team together assuming all players on the list are fit...how would you combine Ryder/TBell as they don't really combine well as of yet?

Not to have a go at anyone in particular, but is there really any point in including Caddy in a hypothetical 2013 team?

It's not exactly a done deal that he will be at Essendon next year.

Realise it's not a done deal but I made a point to mention that this was the "hypothetical team" I would like to see in 2013

Yeh the Ryder/T Bell situation is a tricky one. I guess If Daniher comes on quickly he may be able to Ruck with belly and Paddy could be released elswhere. I'd personally like to see Paddy play a Goodes type role primarily on the ball perhaps on a wing/HFF.

And NO'B will make it 5 debuts for the year. Disappointing not to see Lukey Davis or Ross, but Browne's gone from strength to strength.

Depending on what calls they make on Lee/Bags/Dell, and what happens over the off-season, we'll have at least 5 (Davis/Ross/Browne/NO'B/Kav, Merrett's a year off at least IMHO), and up to 10, barely-seen youngsters, just primed to have a decent impact off 1-2 pre-seasons and with a year or two of good 2nds footy under their belts.
I don't think any of them lack for ability.

Ain't all bad for the club - despite a solid 2 months of utter capitulation from the 1sts.
Shows there is, despite mistakes, a reasonable direction from this club.

Davis/ross/Nob/Kav/Browne/merrett is a pretty good group of youngsters considering there is one first round pick in there, and none in the top 15. Add in Dalgliesh and Hunter (confident we will get production from at least 1) and you get a more than decent young brigade. Tip of the hat to Keane I say.

Cool sig dude.
I think Jetta offers a little more up and around the ground than davey does. Would love him with a huge tank in the midfield coz he is a slick mover like Zaka

I don't think Davey has really left the F50 for a long time, which is fine, because he has produced pressure and goals to at least a satisfactory level in 2012, if not greater. Given his age, may not be in the frame in 2-3 years time, assuming he loses pace. Otherwise, love him, but not as electrifying as could be/has been. Still, I'll take his 2012 stats every year.

Jetta has shown SFA in 2012. Must be better than a cameo player after so long. At this stage, would not mind if traded, as I can't see that much upside. Could be an excellent outside player/goalsneak a la Rioli, or L. Jetta this year, but isn't. If it's coaching, or application, I could only speculate.

The start of this season showed we are on the right track. We have the core of a quality side but injuries, injuries, injuries derailed it by not only the injuries themselves, but the complete lack of continuity it brought in, plus due to the sheer volume of injuries it ensured we were probably bringing guys back that weren't ready/match fit or had to play guys that would normally be rested.

Right now I am putting blind faith in the fitness program and that 2013 will see an end to the soft tissue injuries and see us running out games for longer. It is in the clubs plans, they predicted some pain (but how much...???) so they deserve the chance to see it through.

If come late 2013 we are in the exact same situation I will be out for blood. For now though, sure I am disappointed but the 1st half of the season showed something to hang my hat on and remain calm about things.

Me too. That is all.

alright, gonna throw up an idea, shoot me down if necessary, but what does everyone think of stew crameri the midfielder? would be an absolute nightmare matchup, and god knows we need some hardness in the midfield right about now

said this at the game on saturday

big guy, strong as hell, good tank, reasonably quick

even if he doesn't touch it, just chop whoever does in half

I suspect that these guys are being given a gig to see what they can do.
We have alot of the same type of players at the club, and its time to sort out who can play and who cannot.

Looking to the future, I am going to have a crack at a team in 4 years (2016).

B: Michael Hibberd - Cale Hooker/ - Michael Ross/

HB: Dyson Heppel - Jake Carlisle - Courtenay Dempsey

C: Brent Stanton - David Myers - Elliot Kavanagh

HF: Alex Browne - Joe Daniher - Stew Crameri

F: **** - Michael Hurley - Trav Colyer

R: Paddy Ryder - David Zaharakis - Jobe Watson

I/C: Tom Bellchambers - Heath Hocking - Nick O'Brien - ****

/ = questionable
**** = need someone

Might cause a bit of a stir but just not sure I rate the complete depth of our list.

I'm stirred that you rate Merret ahead of Kav and Browne, very stirred indeed.

yep, I would say kav on a forward flank, rotating through the midfield.
Browne on a HBF releasing dempsey up the ground (i really like him on a wing).
That backline needs another medium/tall defender (pig doesn't cut it for me) I'd have pears in at the expense of a small, depending on how he recovers from injury and regains form.

As for that final bench spot...happy to leave it open to a wildcard trade/FA for now
