So if we kept Staley and Minchinton as rookies, we could get 2 more.
I'd go for a tall defender ( Tippett ) on the Rookie list and one on the main list ( Brown/ Delaney).
Shit! Who'd have thought it would be hard to find players to delist when your team is going so crappy.

I have other players in front of Brown who i prefer we target, but the reality is 95% of players remain at their club if required..

Due to the lack of options, M.Brown has to be seriously looked at..

We can't head into next year with a lack of KD's again..

Therefore if Brown's available & we don't pay overs, i'd be satisfied if we land him..

We have two major holes in our defence for next year, so we have to recruit a minimum of two ready made KD's & hopefully we draft Darcy Gardiner in the interim..

Anybody got a list of GWS & GC players out of contract at the end of this season..?
The lure of home (which is very strong) and a few extra dollars would help to make up some players minds you'd think....
St.Kilda would still be very interested at the right price and if his acquisition doesn't impact on other (possible) deals during trade period. There won't be the same craziness this year by St.Kilda over Brown and Eagles know they are in a bad spot, hence the contract offer.

Basically, J Tippet could have taken Staley or Lever's spot, and nobody here would be any the wiser.
That could have been a plan, give Tippett a different haircut or something, debut him as Lever, as if anyone in the AFL world would notice. The worst that would happen is one of the more enlightened people on BF suggesting he looks a bit like J TIppett.

surely Pelchen will have crack at 3 picks inside 20
I would think so. Trading Fisher for a pick upgrade seems to be a possibility, but I doubt Chips would want to leave and with our lack of tall defenders I doubt we would want him to leave. I think from 10-25, the draft is extremely deep/even and the range of talent is outstanding.

l think Armo and 21 might get 10 19, l love Armos attack on the ball but he will never be an elite midfielder

I know Armo has his limitations but you would have to be 100% certain that the player you picked up at 10 would develop into a better player. I'd rather look into involving Adams in any deal for if you're looking to trade one of our established mids.

Nothing is 100% but 3, 10 & 19 could be an elite midfield for 12 years

Pick 10 could be Matt Crouch, a guy who could be the Selwood of this year's draft (outstanding year from a non top3 pick). Or it could be Darcy Gardiner who is a great key defender. Heck, it could possibly be a Dom Sheed type , but giving up a guy like Armo who has years left and will be a solid mid is a pretty big price to pay for an untried 18 year old. The difference between 21 and 19 is extremely minimal. .

Spot on again Rahul. If we could know who would be available at pick 10 pre draft then we could make an informed decision. Taking a gamble and losing Armitage is a very big risk. I think there are other less risky options available for us if we are interested in Pick 10.

WCE are gonna ask for Pick 21 for Mitch Brown...would you pay the price? I wouldn't. I'd prefer to take Sully in the 4th round

There is only 1 way to get picks 3, 10 & 21...(ie get pick 10 and keep 3 & 21)...offer up someone decent...who?
Ray?
Gwilt?
Gilbo?
Milera?
Saad?
Simpkin?
Stanley?

Any of these + pick 39 worth pick 10?

This is just stupid. You are selling the family car for two tickets in a car raffle.
We can trade our surplus like Stanley, Gilbert or a Jimmy Gwilt , but Armo is a strong bodied proven mid on the cusp of his best years & is likely to come back to bite us..

Joel Smith, Matty Lappin, & Barry Hall were let go too easily & became stars at their second clubs..

Armo with another full season under his belt, still has some upside left in him..

Add another quality mid or two (Adams & Aish), to players like Armo, Steven, Ross, Curren, Newnes & Saunders & they'll form the nucleus of our next generation of midfielders..
